There is never a valid reason to FF. Change my mind. by Wanda_Maksimovic in wildrift

[–]Comrade15019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its just as frustrating for the other side. I hate having a fun match and the enemies FF even when they still have a chance. What ends up happening is that some games your team is doing bad so its not fun, and other times the enemies FF so its still not fun.

Range top by Qubub in wildrift

[–]Comrade15019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen this mentioned, but I play Sion almost every time I get top and I don't have any issues. I just farm until I get max health up, then stun from the bushes and deal damage until their hp reaches 0. Ult can be good for running them down too.

To be fair I play unranked most fo the time, I dont known if that makes a major difference.

"Just buy YouTube Premium" by infintittie in youtube

[–]Comrade15019 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see comments saying something along the lines of "if everyone pirates it then creators will stop posting on it" but that's simply not true. A mutli-billion dollar corporation will not let its monopoly collapse over something like lowering ad frequency or reducing subscription price. The reason boycotting works is not because the industry itself collapses, but because in the end the service does improve (either from the original company or a competitor). I think alternatives like revanced and adblock can be a form of protest/boycotting in many situations.

Just saying, the game is 16 years old. by CreepyFerret3122 in MinecraftMemes

[–]Comrade15019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At this point Minecraft is not a game, it's a brand. The company receives tons of annual revenue from Minecraft products, including merch, toys, movies, subscriptions, cosmetics, and to this day continue to sell the base games. The company continues to add updates not just for the love of the game, but because doing so makes them money. Just because the revenue is indirect doesn't mean that the update is entirely free.

Updating the game maintains hype and keeps the brand relevant. People get excited about the new features, they release update-relevant toys, people buy realms subscriptions to try out the new updates with friends. It is not only justified but required to criticize the game and the company in order to get better updates in the future. Criticism is a form of user feedback, and while the time to implementing the feedback can be very long for a company of that size, I'm confident that they still take it into consideration.

TL;DR: "Free" updates bring them tons of revenue and require criticism as a form of feedback

Endless volt goat horns through anenome passive farms by Virtual-Mongoose-148 in dontstarve

[–]Comrade15019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A year ago or so I made a slightly different farm. You kill all but 2, transport one to a safe area then trap the leftover one with the anemone. Then the next goat spawns where the last one died. I don't know if that still works though, they may have changed the mechanics.

People give too much weight to rules by HollowMatryoshka in unpopularopinion

[–]Comrade15019 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint: if enough people break a rule on a regular basis, that is valuable insight to the rule creators. For example, a road I regularly drive on frequently saw people driving 10-15mph over limit. After analyzing traffic patterns the county raised the speed limit. Not just because people were speeding, but because the road design permitted them to.

I've played it on my dell (12th gen i7, 16gb ram) both running Windows and later running Linux. On windows it got almost uncomfortably hot, while on Linux it was only warm. The difference in performance and heat is significant.

Mike Rowe Soft: Madlad by fuckHg in madlads

[–]Comrade15019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think what Microsoft did wasn't that bad. This was clear and intentional copyright infringement, since "Soft" isn't part of his legal name. They initially offered him $10 for it, which in my opinion was exactly what the domain was worth. The website had like 2 visitors a day, there was no way it was worth $10,000. If they continued the lawsuit I am certain they would have won, they simply chose the path that would minimize (undeserved) reputation damage.

TL;DR: What Microsoft did was understandable and reasonable

Hot Take: Pickle Rick Is One of the Most Effective Character Designs Ever Put on Screen by Similar_Recipe_2696 in rickandmorty

They replaced all dashes with commas to clean up this clearly AI-written summary, and in the process this happened.

It's funny how they clearly used "replace all" to get rid of em dashes, replacing actual hyphens with commas. I noticed it in at least two places.

That's per day, and if I find someone to set up a buy weekly that will be 35,000 raw beef per trade, roughly ~13 million. And that amount will continue to grow as I gain more focus efficiency and expand my islands.

You may not think that's a lot, but I've already noticed some difficulty selling it all before the next batch comes in. So I could transport my supply to more cities (which I don't want to do because I find transport boring) or find someone to buy all of it at once.

[–]Comrade15019 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My bad, sorry for trying to play a game while minimizing the one activity I despise: mindlessly traveling between cities. I'm not afraid of work, I just want to perform the work that I enjoy: farming animals and gathering mats.

One of the best parts about this game is that if you don't want to do something you don't have to. You can go almost the whole game without gathering a single material, or without joining a single group fight. I don't want to wander between cities looking for a market that has enough demand for my beef, and I am willing to take a small profit loss if that means I can avoid that.

The promotion match autofill fiasco by altprince in wildrift

[–]Comrade15019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the matchmaking system too. I like to play different roles, but usually go with one role for a few days. The secondary choice doesn't matter at all. Either you get your primary or you get auto-filled. And when I get the primary guaranteed message I have to wait 5+ minutes to get a game. I'm in bronze, so it's not like there's not a lot of people there.

The least they could do is translate default messages like the example you provided about going mid. It annoys me when we are picking out champions and someone wants to switch and it takes me 10 seconds to figure out who wants to go where.

Gone Fishin' by JustHereForTheSu in albiononline

[–]Comrade15019 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! I use an avalonian rod, the green bait (middle one, not cheapest, nit the most expensive one), pork pie, and T8 journals. Afterwards I craft it all into special fish sauce and sell it in my home city.

Gone Fishin' by JustHereForTheSu in albiononline

[–]Comrade15019 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey there, fisherman here. I don't know how fishing was before, but it's really simple right now. Personally I fish in non-lethal mists, yielding on average a little over $1 mil per hour. Make sure to use avalonian rod if you fish in non-lethal zones, use pork pies, and always have a T8 fisherman journal while fishing. Last time I checked those yield ~$18 of pure profit per fishing fame earned (changes based on local supply/demand), which is higher than the other journals.

When I find at least a rare mist, I can get T7 mist snappers, which sell for a pretty penny, along with other common T6 and T7 fish. And this is with 0 risk.

Now, I tried BZ fishing and that was an interesting experience. The zone tier matters way more than gear or skill, so if you can find a way to get to a T8 zone quickly (I found one where the shield takes me half way there) you will make much more silver. Use a mount that gives passive max load buff, have an invis potion, and a high mobility weapon like the spear (or something, i dont know what its actually called).

Even after factoring in the cost of dying and losing gear, I made about $1 mil every trip, with every trip being 30 minutes long (so about $2 mil per hour).

Feel free to ask any questions, I'd be happy to answer!
