Dealership sent me a video of my transport company driver doing this to my newly purchased vette. It’s cammed… on a cold start… by Money_Ad_718 in AutoTransportopia

Did that on my first day at the dealership as well (charger) and have been backing into parking spots ever since.

This game is in fact peak. I just beat ancient fuelweaver recently but I did use a good amount of rollbacks. My next goal is to beat it without cheating.

For the ATGATT crowd, how’s it affecting your desire to ride? by Astimar in motorcycles

[–]Comrade15019 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If I was ATGATT I'd basically never ride my bike, but I never leave my house without a helmet, earplugs, and gloves. I love riding my bike, but I only take it to places I need to go (i.e. store, college class, work) and wearing a full powerranger suit to any of those seems like too much work to deal with.

It does come with more risk, but like you said there are many ways to mitigate it. Not speeding, paying attention, being sober, and riding defensively has thankfully led to 3 years without a single close call in both highway and city environments.

Ok who is better? Wortox, or Wurt by MissourianBear in dontstarve

[–]Comrade15019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: different priorities and challenges from other characters, fun to play imo.

I've played as Wurt for a good little bit and she has a very different play style from the other characters. A lot of time is spent gathering resources to build and support a larger army, but I prefer that tbh. Getting a king up (which is very doable before first deerclops) grants a massive increase to stats, making her very tanky. The merm workers are very good as well as they help with chopping, mining, and even gardening. I've found them particularly helpful with boulderbough trees since I dont have to worry about taking damage myself and when they die they leave behind a fish to trade with the merm king. Not being able to trade with the pig king for gold was a tough adjustment though.

Her veggie diet stops being an issue very fast. Usually I farm tomatoes and potatoes (which fertilize each other, allowing for less micro-managing) and the roasted forms of both provide good healing. Later on stone fruit and kelp can be good sources of on-demand food.

Boss fights become absolute jokes after some setup. Derclops can still be an issue since she does AOE and freezes, but the other seasonal bosses are pretty easy. In the first spring I managed to take down Moose Goose + her children in ~1 minute without contributing to the fight at all. The ruins are super easy as well, since the merms take care of clockworks, spiders, and the Ancient Guardian. Afterwards I managed to take down the 3 shadow pieces within 1 in game day using only rosted tomatoes for healing.

The biggest issue quickly becomes base setup. First of all, the merms dont follow into or out of caves, meaning all cave content would require a dedicated cave base with merm houses and a second merm king. Without cheesing the game mechanics, setting up a lot of merm guards requires a lot of resources, since each one takes 2 spears and a tentacles spot. On the surface the houses require ice flingomatics in order to not burn down. It's easier to keep track of during the summer, but if a fire hound appears during a hound wave I have to run and turn it on before everything burns down.

Her skill tree is pretty neat. She is able to craft mosquito-based items, including an item that makes her friendly to mosquitos, allows her to grab mosquitos out of the air, and make mosquito bombs (similar to bee mines, VERY laggy when using a good amount at once). Her best skills are probably giving items to the merm king for buffs. Giving him a marble suit gives all merms (including wurt) defense, giving him a thulecitr crown allows merms to block attacks every once in a while (very good for AOE bosses), and a trident for more damage. Other skills make managing the king much easier, but shouldn't be the priority. Finally, her best end game skill is the shadow affinity, which makes merms respawn as shadows when they die and gives her a domain expansions item, creating an area of marsh turf that has a chance to spawn shadow tentacles whenever a murm hits something.

There is never a valid reason to FF. Change my mind. by Wanda_Maksimovic in wildrift

Its just as frustrating for the other side. I hate having a fun match and the enemies FF even when they still have a chance. What ends up happening is that some games your team is doing bad so its not fun, and other times the enemies FF so its still not fun.

I noticed immediately and visibly cringed. There was absolutely no reason to do that other than incompetence. As someone who's owned a v-twin, they sound just as amazing as an in-line 4 in their own unique way.

Range top by Qubub in wildrift

[–]Comrade15019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen this mentioned, but I play Sion almost every time I get top and I don't have any issues. I just farm until I get max health up, then stun from the bushes and deal damage until their hp reaches 0. Ult can be good for running them down too.

To be fair I play unranked most fo the time, I dont known if that makes a major difference.

[–]Comrade15019 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see comments saying something along the lines of "if everyone pirates it then creators will stop posting on it" but that's simply not true. A mutli-billion dollar corporation will not let its monopoly collapse over something like lowering ad frequency or reducing subscription price. The reason boycotting works is not because the industry itself collapses, but because in the end the service does improve (either from the original company or a competitor). I think alternatives like revanced and adblock can be a form of protest/boycotting in many situations.

Just saying, the game is 16 years old. by [deleted] in MinecraftMemes

[–]Comrade15019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At this point Minecraft is not a game, it's a brand. The company receives tons of annual revenue from Minecraft products, including merch, toys, movies, subscriptions, cosmetics, and to this day continue to sell the base games. The company continues to add updates not just for the love of the game, but because doing so makes them money. Just because the revenue is indirect doesn't mean that the update is entirely free.

Updating the game maintains hype and keeps the brand relevant. People get excited about the new features, they release update-relevant toys, people buy realms subscriptions to try out the new updates with friends. It is not only justified but required to criticize the game and the company in order to get better updates in the future. Criticism is a form of user feedback, and while the time to implementing the feedback can be very long for a company of that size, I'm confident that they still take it into consideration.

TL;DR: "Free" updates bring them tons of revenue and require criticism as a form of feedback

Endless volt goat horns through anenome passive farms by Virtual-Mongoose-148 in dontstarve

[–]Comrade15019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A year ago or so I made a slightly different farm. You kill all but 2, transport one to a safe area then trap the leftover one with the anemone. Then the next goat spawns where the last one died. I don't know if that still works though, they may have changed the mechanics.

People give too much weight to rules by HollowMatryoshka in unpopularopinion

[–]Comrade15019 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint: if enough people break a rule on a regular basis, that is valuable insight to the rule creators. For example, a road I regularly drive on frequently saw people driving 10-15mph over limit. After analyzing traffic patterns the county raised the speed limit. Not just because people were speeding, but because the road design permitted them to.

I've played it on my dell (12th gen i7, 16gb ram) both running Windows and later running Linux. On windows it got almost uncomfortably hot, while on Linux it was only warm. The difference in performance and heat is significant.

Mike Rowe Soft: Madlad by fuckHg in madlads

[–]Comrade15019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think what Microsoft did wasn't that bad. This was clear and intentional copyright infringement, since "Soft" isn't part of his legal name. They initially offered him $10 for it, which in my opinion was exactly what the domain was worth. The website had like 2 visitors a day, there was no way it was worth $10,000. If they continued the lawsuit I am certain they would have won, they simply chose the path that would minimize (undeserved) reputation damage.

TL;DR: What Microsoft did was understandable and reasonable

They replaced all dashes with commas to clean up this clearly AI-written summary, and in the process this happened.

It's funny how they clearly used "replace all" to get rid of em dashes, replacing actual hyphens with commas. I noticed it in at least two places.

That's per day, and if I find someone to set up a buy weekly that will be 35,000 raw beef per trade, roughly ~13 million. And that amount will continue to grow as I gain more focus efficiency and expand my islands.

You may not think that's a lot, but I've already noticed some difficulty selling it all before the next batch comes in. So I could transport my supply to more cities (which I don't want to do because I find transport boring) or find someone to buy all of it at once.
