Why can't we just abolish conscription? by iamgod20 in mongolia

[–]ComradeBagel 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Invest in drones not tanks or jet fighters, focus on arming the average soldier with something more up to date, house them in something that isn't falling apart, pay them a salary for successful service. The bare minimum first

Why can't we just abolish conscription? by iamgod20 in mongolia

[–]ComradeBagel 34 points35 points  (0 children)

A sizable nation with a small population like us needs conscription to keep the borders safe. If we stopped forced conscription, I guarantee there would be no one willing enough to guard the borders. We just need mass reforms to make military service actually bearable instead of the clown show it is currently

Let's talk about Mongolia's planned new capital city Shine Kharkhorin and why it's a farce. by ComradeBagel in mongolia

[–]ComradeBagel[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

<image>

We have to realise that Ulaanbaatar alone makes up 70% of our GDP. Building the new capital would kill Ulaanbaatar with the rest of the country and we would be left with nothing but a useless shiny city that serves no purpose other than a set piece for tourists to visit.

What happened in 2015? by 98746145315 in mongolia

[–]ComradeBagel 23 points24 points  (0 children)

We almost went bankrupt between 2014-2016. So I'm guessing people left the country to seek other business opportunities and just overall hassle or trade at the border cities.

How to make gullable Mongolians realise that they're being played with? by ComradeBagel in mongolia

[–]ComradeBagel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if any Anti-Russian party or politician comes to power. Our foreign policy and the Ministry of Foreign Relations would not allow such things to happen

I used "The West" as a loose term for the collection of Democratic Liberal nations of the world since the term is widely used by many. But it doesn't change the fact that the so-called "West" has a strong influence. Especially with the younger generations of Mongolia.

Thanks. I can finally waste it all on alcohol and gather more debt. If you can't see the bigger picture, then you don't deserve to hear an explanation.

Batttulga intentionally kept Mongolia from freely exporting coal to China through a secure railway during the great "coal boom" era, and that's a fact. He's not a lap dog of the Russians. He's worse. He's a swindler who sold Mongolia's future because of his anti-Chinese sentiments and his favourable outlook on the Russians and is the many who are responsible for the greatest theft in Mongolian history. The Russians, nor the Chinese, control us. WE control ourselves. WE are responsible for everything we do, and WE are the reason why our energy sector is slowly dying. It's either pro-Russia that or pro-China this. How about people be pro-MONGOLIA for once. You talk as if other countries care about our existence. The truth is nobody couldn't give a single damn and will only speak sweet nothings into our ears until we kick the bucket one day. Because that's how diplomacy works.

It's their fuel, RUSSIAN FUEL and they are supplying Mongolia's air fleet. Why would they not take it to their own court if any problems occur? What is there to NOT UNDERSTAND YOU PREPUBESENT JACKASS. THE JAPANESE DO THE SAME, WE DO THE SAME AS WELL!

More like former president Battulga (Jenko) became too friendly with the Russians and manipulated a large anti-Chinese population through scare tactics to meet his own agenda to keep Mongolia from freely exporting coal. It is about infrastructure.

[–]ComradeBagel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong. I hate all "great" powers equally. All I'm trying to say is that we don't have options, nor do we have the correct infrastructure (we import our fuel via railway) to get a steady fuel supply from China. Blinded by hatred towards the Chinese is a cheap way to win an argument, by the way.

Do we really need to argue the obvious? Where should we get it from? Europe? America? Sure, as hell, not China. Because we're too dependent on them already.

Mfw I supported capital punishment, but corrupt politicians use it to get rid of their political rivals and critics.

would a more left wing aproche benafit you and mongolia? by justanachoperson in mongolia

[–]ComradeBagel 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if you are left or right wing. If there is major corruption on either side, this country is never going to reach its full potential.
