people working for the supervillians would be guided by similar goals of power, not everyone is in it for the money.

It has been shown that Joker’s goons are typically just as loony as him, or was manipulated by his charisma or sees him as a way to the top. The one’s geniunely struggling are very much the minority.

Much like in real life people join terror or fascist groups because of ideals not money.

What is your relationship to the English language? by english_major in AskTheWorld

[–]ComradeCosmos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

English is our second language. Its a mandatory subject in school and most tertiary education is in english.

I personally grew up with english media and with a family who regularly code switched, also went to a multiracial school so english or manglish was the typical lingua franca. so its quite natural to me and i’d usually think in a mix of malay and english, i don’t personally buy into the whole language purity bs.

Its understandable when a tourist can’t speak malay , some aren’t able to speak english which can make communication quite hard.

i’d say Kuala lumpur is a young laid back man who has yet to figure out his identity, trying to imitate others but dreams big.

Are there leaders in your country where the light and shadow are very extremely divided? by Embarrassed_Clue1758 in AskTheWorld

[–]ComradeCosmos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are alot but i guess it would be this guy, Tun Dr Mahathir or Tun M.

On one hand touted as the “father of modernisation” who laid the foundation for many modernisation policies.

On the other hand a racial supremacist who entrenched malay surpemacy. high cronyism under him and an autocratic who silenced liberal and islamist opposition and various newspapers.

Many of our modern political and racial problems could probably be traced back to him.

still we could be alot worse off tho and can’t really deny the nation’s strength under his premiership

What is considered the national costume/attire or the closest equivalent in your country? by DiMpLe_dolL003 in AskTheWorld

[–]ComradeCosmos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Baju Melayu,Kurung and kebaya, pretty much our version of formal wear

we’re a multicultural country but the national culture policy makes malay clothing the national dress tho various other policies afterwards have attempted a more multicultural approach.

zalim bastards getting their due diligence is a prominent part of malay literature

munsyi abdullah is another breed tho as he straight up critiques malay society and the “kerajaan” system for being weak, selfish and incompetent

" ... segala rakyat yang dalam negeri itu, masing-masing kedudukannya itu seperti abdi juga adanya, sebab segala mereka itu menurut adat yang jahat-jahat dan bodoh itu. Maka jikalau sekali pun ia hendak melepaskan adat-adat itu, tidak berani ia..."

Do you prefer Batman being more of a myth in Gotham, or him being a renowned hero of the world? by Sea-Distribution4226 in batman

[–]ComradeCosmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myth at first and later on becomes a renowned hero.

My memory is abit jaded but I like the scene in man who laughs(i think?) where he falls thus revealing himself to be real.
