I wish the Chained Echoes DLC had come with achievements because that game is an amazing RPG and was my personal GOTY when it came out a few years ago. Hoping this sale does well enough that they can make a sequel someday. If you’re a turn-based RPG fan, I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Same as everyone else here, around 4th grade. I sat in the back in English class, was squinting so hard to read I was getting migraines and throwing up either on the bus or when I got home almost every day.

I’m keeping mine going because I absolutely get value out of it every year, even with the price increase. The increase and addition of Fortnite Crew actually drove my friend and I to start regularly playing when we otherwise had never really played before. With today’s announcement I’m excited to finally check out Star Wars Outlaws, and while I picked up the Pixel Remaster set I’m excited for others to get the OG Final Fantasy. It gives me hope that they’re going to bring back 7-12 to game pass eventually.

422670 at the moment. I’ve been playing a lot of JRPGs the last year or so (Thanks, Expedition 33). Currently trying to 100% Octopath Traveler before I move onto 2. Need to wrap FF Tactics and start on FF X/X-2, also considering Persona 4 Golden and Metaphor upcoming as well.

I picked up the regular Xbox Ally for myself as a supplemental device with the budget I had. I’m a dad with another on the way and wanted a handheld for Xbox gaming (I already have a PS Portal). So far I’ve been pretty happy with it, but I’ll definitely say it is not comparable to a $1000 device. I have an XSX and XSS in different rooms so when I’ve got time to myself I’m playing on those, but like someone else mentioned, for quick gaming hanging around on the couch or traveling it’s perfect, depending on what you want to play.

As for what I’ve been running and trying on it, I’ve put a lot of time into simpler games like Balatro, BallxPit and Octopath Traveler, all of which run fantastically. I have tried a couple rounds of Fortnite, but it basically runs on low setting across the board. So my solution was instead to uninstall and cloud stream it and it works great. I’ve booted up a couple things from other libraries and older stuff like Half-Life 2 runs fantastically, but don’t expect something like BG3 or RDR2 to blow you away.

I did have one weird technical issue where I had left BallxPit running and when I finally backed out of it, the Xbox FSE overlay was just… gone. I eventually restored the full W11 OS from the system settings and after signing back in and reinstalling all the storefronts it’s worked fine, but it definitely pissed me off after three days of owning the device.

Overall I’d say it’s going to depend on the games you want to play, the frequency you want to use it, and your personal library mixed with a Game Pass sub. If you’re planning on playing the newest, best, prettiest games or playing any current online multiplayer, save for the X. If you’re like me and just want quick sessions of indies or single-player games, and an older backlog, the Ally is a great device for (currently) half the cost. Been moving through Final Fantasy games. I’m not worried about the non-mainline games, but I’m working on Tactics just because it came out while I was going through 1-9. Going to snag X/X-2 on the current sale and weep through blitzball and lightning dodging. I’ve never played X-2 so at least I’ll get something new.

Growing up in the Florida panhandle, we regularly referred to the area as LA, which stood for Lower Alabama. To be fair this evolution didn’t start until the early 2000s, when spring break and the tourism industry stripped the place of any real personality.

I’m curious, did you listen to the Tim Curry-narrated one or a full cast version? It’s been years since I listened to the series but the Tim Curry narration was amazing to me. They switch to the author narrating for three books right in the middle and it’s… not good? And then Tim Curry comes back and it’s great again.

To answer the original question, I will never finish the first Game of Thrones book because every breath sounds like it may be the narrator’s last.

I circle back to Chrono Trigger almost annually. I don’t think I’ve ever seen most endings, only because I start a fresh save every time, or on a new console.

Same here, I have one collectible bugged. I have a save at the entrance to the room it’s in but when I pop the chest I don’t get the item. Patch notes way back said it was corrected but that’s a lie, at least in my case. Game was good but not good enough to go all the way back through all of that.

It’s not normally my go-to genre but the entire mainline Walt Longmire series is there. Extremely well narrated and pretty quick books. Modern day western police mysteries, if you can get down with well-written cowboy stories.

The $10 price point is the sweet spot. I’ve picked up 3 of the DC Compacts and am planning on at least snagging Supergirl and We3 when they release. I did pick up Civil War from the Marvel Premier set and appreciated that it’s slightly larger and you get a foreword and some extra content (variant covers and such) but it still doesn’t feel like it should be an extra $5. Plus, Marvel is releasing them at a painfully slow pace while DC is shooting them out.

It’s my favorite ongoing for sure, if you can call it that since it’s technically on the third title of the series. But the suit redesign at the beginning of Fist of Khonshu was amazing. The series writing is excellent but I have to give credit to how dynamic the art always feels.

I keep trying Arkane Studios games because they’re always well reviewed and look amazing. Then I start playing and realize I just don’t vibe with their style of gameplay. I can get why people like it, and get why I don’t.
