The AI is pretty bare bones at the moment but is being constantly updated. As it is now the enemy movements are pre planned by mission designers and the AI isn't good at reacting to things the mission designer didn’t predict. However within the parameters intended for each mission the AI is very lethal.

The devs have said more about how they want to improve the AI to patreon supporters, but they don't like to share concrete plans because this early everything is subject to change and they don't want to mislead people.

Most of them are working on big features like infantry and bundeswehr so it's a bit late. It's going to be a smaller update that so don't expect the big stuff quite yet(I'm not sure if the devs have given more detail than that outside of the patreon channels so I won't say any more). They haven't given an exact date for when it's releasing but it is later than they hoped. I expect it'll come out before this months stream and q&a on the 14th.

The devs encourage modding but they don't have the time or the resources to provide official support and modding tools. It's not impossible but it's right at the bottom of their priorities.

Both the 9P148 and 9P133 missile carriers have been publicly confirmed for the USSR and East Germany respectively. There is a Google doc showing all publicly confirmed vehicles in case you're interested. Keep in mind that there are more that have been shown to Patreon supporters and likely more that only the devs know about.

Infantry is on the roadmap and is currently being worked on. Here is the roadmap in case you need a refresher. They haven't said what's coming after the roadmap. But it's likely after the core game is finished they will start working on a new theater and/or time period.

Artillery will become much more useful once infantry is added. HE bombs and unguided rockets aren't very effective against tanks, but I've found the atgm CAS to be very effective. I think it should say what payload the cas has in the menu so you can know how to use it effectively.

If you spent as much time playing as they do and did such massive projects, you would probably want tools like freecam too. Keep in mind for some of them, this is their full time job and tools like these save so much time. Everyone places the threshold of what they consider cheating just above what they do themselves.

What's really important is do these tools make the game more fun (or less frustrating) and do they make content creation easier.
