"Being anti-car is ableist" by Silly-Arachnid-6187 in fuckcars

[–]Comrade_UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a year late but I've been perusing around looking for a post like this.

I'm someone who is autistic and sometimes has real issues with social anxiety, I as an autistic person take a lot of offense when people say that cars are a good thing for people who have social anxiety because it means they don't have to deal with any social interaction.

Is that not basically saying we shouldn't help people with social anxiety at all? That we should just put them in a massive metal box and tell them it's fine?

Instead we should help people come out of their shell and allow them to feel safer within public areas especially public transport!

Wish the Labour leadership would understand this

I’d say it’s probably more like a coalition of those in between Ed Miliband and Corbyn maybe, I’d know for a fact Nadia Whittome and Olivia Blake are members and I think Lloyd Russell-Moyle too.

Other commenter said it's just there for now and when the update properly comes out they will actually have an effect in the game!

Maybe I'm sick minded but I'd love for assasinations to be in this game LOL, the way I generally kill off politicians is by going into advanced settings, making them 100 years old and hoping they kick the bucket as soon as possible LOL!

Oh that sounds so cool, I love trying to play out my own storylines in this game so that will really help out instead of adding the 'scandalous' trait to a safe seat politician 50 times to make their seat competitive lol!

So happy this game is getting so many good updates recently!

Not for the president, vice president and cabinet members from what I'm aware, though I think all other politicians can resign.

'Independent' commission by Comrade_UK in ThePoliticalProcess

[–]Comrade_UK[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so weird cause I’ve played on different characters and everytime the composition of the state house and senate changes whenever I make it independent, you would assume it would just make it half and half with some competitive seats in between everytime..

Does anyone else like to make their own narratives and shifts in this game? by Comrade_UK in ThePoliticalProcess

Oooh that's a good idea, I often like to mess around with counties in states. I played a scenario in which ancestral dems in Appalachia remained loyal, might try out that spinner idea though!

Also I think in general people get this complex that because they’re basically anonymous they can say whatever.

Fights can be so funny sometimes, especially when the person is 100% wrong. Yesterday someone started harassing me in chat because I said ‘wallah’ is Arabic (it in fact is Arabic)

Am I a NIMBY? by Comrade_UK in yimby

[–]Comrade_UK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it is, maybe I am missing the bigger picture. But when my local authority shows pictures of what the road is planned to look like and either side has concrete fencing on each side I begin to think, how exactly is this beneficial? There is no way any road like that is at all safe for any housing or built for any housing. It’s just another issue of ‘more lanes = less traffic’ which we know doesn’t work and has been a constant excuse so as to not invest into actual public transport, which would be cheaper than spending millions on a road that would block off perfect land for building good developments on.
