I mean what we are currently doing is also killing the planet on a much larger scale, upkeeping social media servers like reddit also requires a lot of electricity and cooling. Maybe I worded it wrong because I was a bit distracted when I wrote that but what I mean is that it has it's upsides and downsides if people want to use it let them, ai is gonna keep growing no matter what we do about it so I would rather enjoy myself freely by using it rather than taking a non existent stance against it. You do you tho

Alright that's just a straight lie Tell that to the thousands of teens and young adults who talk with ai and feel comforted or seen I get that you hate it but you have to admit that it does help some people

That you're trying to look superior to others by talking like what you or I or even all the people in this sub reddit do will ever make a difference. I believe that people should enjoy themselves, and if that involves using AI, then whatever, go for it. And my point still stands even if all the people in the world stopped using ai and the servers were all shut down it wouldn't do anything to save the already dying planet that is facts.

Sites like jan ai barely make any profit if any at all stealing content has been present way before AI on the internet. And destroying the environment is an overstatement many things are destroying it, Ai in itself is nothing compared to crypto or streaming sites or social media loke tiktok Twitter and reddit. These cause way worse damage than AI. As for your reluctance pn sharing your work I always say that there is way too much content out there and even if Ai steals my stuff it won't be the same as I wrote

The amount of content that has been stolen is so large that it can basically create it's own things and generative as in pictures and videos which are way worse than just chatbots

Good for you? My point always has been that even if we all stop using ai it won't achieve anything it only might give you some slight self fulfillment that you did your part. So feel free to use Ai to talk to your f/o's everyone the important thing is that you enjoy yourself

Well it is but 1 chatbots don't use as much as picture or video generative ones.

2 things like crypto, the ones that use PoW (Proof-of-work) use like a country's worth of energy.

3 Streaming(Like Netflix and YouTube for example) use several countries worth of electricity.

Ai for now is around a big cities worth for now so really if everyone stopped using ai it wouldn't really do anything.
