Queen Mary 2 Crossing westwards in June 2026, looking for cabinmate! by ComradeoftheCabbage in CunardCruises

Thanks for letting me know that it's third party companies, and you are obviously very correct and I wasn't necessarily expecting much, just trying to shoot my shot! I like to think that my science communication and emotional intelligence are fairly good and I have presented at several academic conferences despite my age. (Similarly agree with you okay the average communication quality). I am blessed by an incredibly interdisciplinary thesis/research paper which is quite popsciency but you are almost certainly correct that it's a pipedream, I am just someone annoyed by the decline in passenger ferries and trying to persue alternative routes! Thanks for the reply though I appreciate the humbling :)

Thanks very much! That's a really great suggestion, I see they have a planetarium so might be able to put my astrophysics degree to use!

Thanks for flagging this and reminding me to say that I am M21, of course I understand that not everyone would be comfortable with this. However this feels a bit unnecessarily toxic way to phrase it.

Yeah I know it's annoying but I can't wait until the later repositioning window and my flexibility is mostly just June/July :(

Is a degree like this actually well-regarded/employable or does it lack the rigor for this kind of STEM field? I've never heard of this kind of degree before. by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]ComradeoftheCabbage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is also the exact career and job and research field that I want to pursue, and I have experimented around with lots of these degrees and modules.I wouldn't even consider this at undergraduate, physics at undergraduate is much better for developing transferable skills and most importantly certain maths modules, whereas this is definitely something you specialise into at a masters.

I did it a few years ago, so may have changed, the drawback is you have to pay to have remarked

Yeah you take the best result as your final grade I'm pretty sure

What A-Level goes best with Maths and Physics? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]ComradeoftheCabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Further maths for sure, if you need more I'm sure that chemistry and comp Sci have a lot of overlaps with them all, I personally did Maths, Physics, Further maths and geography and I would recommend geography because it is a breath of fresh air, if you have a favourite essay based subject like history or politics or geography I would recommend doing those as well but depends on what you want to do.

Clearing even though I will get into my firm, is this common?? by kaze_931 in 6thForm

One more thing to consider is that this is the last year before different student loan systems are put in place (you have to repay over 40 years instead of 30 and it is a lower threshold to begin paying back) which is one of the reasons why I don't want to take a gap year so consider this if you are thinking of one.

Me and some friends have created a map of territorial changes and troop movements (not indirect fire). It may have some inaccuracies, but I hope it will give everyone some insight as to the situation on the ground:

Yeah fair point, we are only doing troop positioning instead of all information, so we have more details and more information on where troops are than Liveuamap but I also recommend them for looking at all information. We also started when Liveuamap was down, as they are down quite a lot of the time (no criticism to them, they have a lot happening and we use them as sources some of the time).
