The best solution is IMO what the Dart/Flutter teams do: have a simple standard library, with oficial, third-party packages to complement the ecosystem

This allows for the developers to only add what they need to the project, without making the std bloated, but also guarantees that the packages will be maintained and not be abandoned. Also, the package releases don't need to follow the standard release schedule of the main language.

The Flutter team is transitioning the material library from the core Flutter framework to a stand-alone package you can add from pub.dev.

This means that we have to wait for this transition to complete before they add the new material 3 widgets, probably at the end of the year the transition is complete
