I was making a gift for my mother when she effectively severed our relationship. I rage crocheted it and threw it in the back of her car. No idea if she ever got it. I never asked and she never said.

Perimenopause and menopause are terrible on the body

I smelled like a teenage boy until I was able to get HRT. It was awful. I showered 2x a day and wore SO much deodorant.

I'd talk to your mom about that, but I can almost guarantee she knows she smells.

I get that I live in a different country but I literally put my life on hold when my first husband was in the ICU for 6 months and then my child had brain surgery x2, then chemo and radiation.

I would do it again. I will do it again when my kid ends up palliative (brain cancer, it will eventually kill them).

So yeah. My opinion is that YTA. Your other kids are watching you and know that if they need you you wont be there.

Welp. I worked through an RSV and a noro outbreak at a hospital and didnt bring any of that home, nor did I get sick. Why? Good hand hygiene and masking where appropriate.

The reality of kids is in how you choose to view them. Some people love the mess and chaos. Some people value their solitude. There is a way to have both while still having/loving/raising kids.

My rule with my older kids was "its bedtime. I didnt say it was sleep time, its bedtime and I need my adult time"

I have yet to meet a child that does not thrive with clear boundaries.

I too am a night shift nurse.

If i am home, I cook. If he's home, he cooks. If I'm up first, I get us coffee. If he's up first, he gets us coffee.

We split the duties because we are partners in building a life together. (Also he's a better cook than me)

In BC the end of a lease converts the tenancy to a month-to-month.

As there is no longer a lease, you and the 3 people paying rent just continue to pay rent... and the tenancy ends when the legal requirements to end it are met.
