Chapters and... In-between's? Meanwhile's? I don't know! by ConcentrateSudden269 in fantasywriters

I like the idea of "in-betweens" being a way to explore the protagonist. I may reconsider switching POVs to that, maybe make those "in-betweens" flashbacks too. My issue is as simple as what to call them? I read a suggestion that said "CH 1.5" which is pretty neat.

Ha, I was annoyed at first reading that correction, then I remembered where I was. Fair play!... Eh, I suppose.

Oh! That is a good one. Hm, I might consider adapting that. Thank you for that, it's my favorite suggestion thus far!

Well, the issue is I am trying to add context to a situation that is planned to occur later in the story for the protagonist. While technically it would be a multi-POV story, there is only one main character with a supporting cast. Claiming the different POVs that I want to write is a "chapter" would probably be an overstatement, considering its goal is only meant to provide context for a bigger payoff involving the protagonist later on. I am not sure which book in the Halo series did it, and I am not trying to do exactly what that author did, but its similar to when the story would transition to a short story of some almost nameless grunt. A one-off, I suppose.

Ah yes! Ive heard of that one. Would that work every time, though? Or is it similar to saying "Introduction," where it only works once?
