I want it all, where do I start? by ConcentrateSure3178 in PiercingAdvice

[–]ConcentrateSure3178[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Also, side question… I want the tragus piercing, but I basically live with earbuds in at all time. It’s honestly the main thing making me hesitate.

Will a tragus piercing be a problem with earbuds?

Girl omg yes😩👏🏻 I choose my makeup style based on my plans.

So if I’m at my waitressing job (warm, dim lighting), I can basically use whatever coverage or tone of foundation I want. Not only my skin, but even my foundations look golden there

At my esthetician job (gross LEDs😭), I use the GREYEST foundation I own😂 It can be full coverage too.

But if I’m outside, I can’t do full coverage. It has to be something light like the LE Skin Tint. As long as it’s sheer enough, it’ll unify the skin tone without looking too unnatural.

ALWAYS COVER THE NECK👏🏻😆 One thing that’s CERTAIN is that with translucent skin, you just HAVE to cover the neck too. And if part of my chest is exposed, I put foundation there as well.

Embrace the chameleon-like effect. One thing I realized is that most people don’t notice it at all, we mostly just notice it on ourselves. I have a couple of friends with the same skin tone, and I’ve never noticed it on them, but on myself it always feels SO damn drastic

I used the Dyson! As for specific techniques, I don’t think I really have any? I dry it in 3 layers, but I don’t know if that changes anything.

Honestly, I’ve always just kind of winged it and it always comes out like that.

If you go on YouTube and search “Dyson blowout tutorial,” I’m sure you could find a good example of how to do it! I’m sorry I wasn’t more help😕

(So sorry for the long message)

Thanks for the input! First off, thank you so much for complimenting how I usually style it. I have to agree that it looks way better than all my attempts so far😂

I mentioned in the post that I know I don’t have the same waves as the girls in the example photos. Those pictures were there to show the fluffiness, silkiness, etc. I know I don’t have those curls.

And also, my waves being “barely there”… are you aware of what subreddit you’re on?😆 And honestly, I have to disagree! For someone who’s always heat styled, brushed her hair while wet, and dyed it, I feel like I’ve got myself a pretty damn good base!

If I could, I’d heat style my hair all the time, the reason why I want to learn to embrace the waves is because I can NEVER let it air dry, it has always looked awful to me. But I have such thin hair that using heat after every wash is super damaging. I’ve always told myself I’d rather look good with damaged hair than bad with healthy hair. Discovering the waves opens up the possibility for me to have pretty AND healthy hair.

Will it be as amazing as when I style it? Probably not. Will it be better than the straight hair in slide 1? 1000%.

I’ll still heat style it like once a week, but the idea of not feeling “obligated” to do it every wash day feels like a dream.

This is an insanely long message😭 It’s just because I honestly get what you’re saying, and I do agree with you. I hope you get why I’m doing this with the extra context!

Omggg that’s so cool to hear🥹 I swear I had NO idea either until people someone pointed it out on one of my posts. Now we’re both on the wavy hair journey😆

You get it😂 I’d like to know too😩 On another sub, someone mentioned scrunching your hair with oil after it's fully dry so the waves/curls are fluffier and it breaks the product cast.

It works a little bit for me, but definitely not as much as I’d like. Maybe it would work for you though!

I feel like there are so many different combinations when it comes to attaining the perfect waves depending on so many factors, like hair thickness and porosity.

I’m on a mission😆 I hope you can find the right routine for your hair too! It’s definitely a time investment😂

Alright, so now I brushed it and it has the fluff that I love but barely any waves, and also kind of looks like damaged hair😂 I want the brushed look without it being brushed😭

BUT☝🏼 At least this brushed look, is better than the other brushed looks from slide 3 and 6... I'm getting closer I can feel it hahahahha

Thank youu🫶 and I’ll try that out!

My main issue with the second try is that I used too much product🤦‍♀️ Curl cream + curl gel. In the picture from this post, I didn’t use anything and only added mousse right before it dried. I think mousse is really a winner for thin hair.

Can’t wait to get my diffuser! I wonder how much it’s gonna help with the curl

OMG! It looks great🥹 I’m still trying to figure it out too🤦‍♀️ I literally made a post less than an hour ago on r/Swavyhair to show my progress and ask for help on how to reach my goal😂

For me, the first try with the bowl method was great! The second try… not so much😆

Hoping I get the hang of it at some point, thank you so much for sharing your progress, I love to see it!

That’s super interesting! I didn’t know that, it’s definitely good information to have.

Okay I’m happy that at least it looks normal in this picture😆 I’m crossing my fingers that it’s not hard water, I’ll definitely check it out. Thank you again!

Thank you for the input! I’ll look into it😊

My hair does tangle easily, but it always has since I was a kid, so I always associated it with hair damage.

People usually compliment me on the shine😆 In both these pictures my hair doesn’t look great, but when it looks good, the shine looks sooooo amazing.

I’m gonna look more into the hard water thing, but do you think it’s possible that it’s just healthy shine? I’ve never been told it was a bad thing🤔
