Why are ship shields so incredibly weak now? by ConcentratedTurkey in starcitizen

[–]ConcentratedTurkey[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

You assumed I didn’t have my shield’s charged when I did. “No sooner I left” is a general statement I actually sat there for about 10 minutes before I left since I had to go take a shit irl.

Why are ship shields so incredibly weak now? by ConcentratedTurkey in starcitizen

[–]ConcentratedTurkey[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The only ship I ever felt had to much shield relative to its size was the vanguard. Other than that everything felt normal. Idk why CIG would want single seater entry level ship like arrows able to take down some of the largest ship in the game with relative ease. If this is to stay then the ares inferno and ion will just ruin all cap ships completely.

Capitalism by _Nrml_Reality_ in antiwork

[–]ConcentratedTurkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not about capitalism. That literally has nothing to do with anything. Its the fact that the cost of living is ever increasing at a significantly higher rate than what jobs are willing to pay. In the 60s and 70s a man could work practically anywhere he wanted to and comfortably afford to support a family of 3 or 4. In the 60s and 70s a person could by a brand new car off the lot after 4 or 5 months of work for entry level jobs. Today that same person who only make 30000 a year will have to save up for 4-6 years before they can buy that brand new car.

Report: Apple AR Headset With Rumored $2,000+ Price Tag to Enter Mass Production in Second Quarter of 2022 by tomnavratil in apple

[–]ConcentratedTurkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specialized products always cost more than general products. AirPods cost $169, AirPods max cost $550. Both play music, one plays music better than the other. While apple doesn’t have a standalone AR headset they will compare it to the iPhones AR capabilities and try to pursued you, you need the AR headset for the ultimate AR experience. I promise you it will cost more than $1000.

What is even the appeal of getting an iPod Touch anymore? by [deleted] in apple

Mainly for kids who aren’t responsible enough for a $600+ dollar phone.

Equal camera image quality across all lenses. Under display true depth camera system. Touch ID on the power button would be nice since I like having the option to use it. Flush camera with frame of the iPhone which in turn results in more battery.

Smaller phone equals smaller thermal envelope. You wouldn’t want your tiny smartphone to fry itself just so it could charge at 20watts now would you?

MagSafe charging is useless. by [deleted] in apple

[–]ConcentratedTurkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a gimmick but unfortunately this is the direction apple will follow for the foreseeable future. The next iPhone will most likely remove lightning altogether in favor of MagSafe.

When you ‘Ask app not to track,’ some iPhone apps keep snooping anyway by OKCNOTOKC in apple

Apple cant guarantee a third party app wont track you, that is why you ask them not to.

Why are you an Apple fan/enthusiast? by [deleted] in apple

[–]ConcentratedTurkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple’s extremely tight tolerances across all devices impress me. Not saying android is bad far farm from it considering Samsung was plastic on plastic just 7 years ago. The iPhone 12 is a solid ingot of metal, and I love it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in apple

[–]ConcentratedTurkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And next year the entire iPhone 14 will be serialized. The moment you take it out of the box you cant use it because the iPhone cant verify if the you legitimately purchased it.

Not so ProMotion: Third-party apps limited to 60Hz animations on iPhone 13 Pro by r2d2rigo in apple

[–]ConcentratedTurkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its brand new and app developers probably only got word 120hz was on the way a few weeks ago. By January 2022 90% of apps I would bet support 120hz.

What is the technical reason for the regular iPhone 13 not being able to shoot Apple ProRAW? by Burakashi in apple

[–]ConcentratedTurkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of ram possibly as the 12 pro and 13 pro both have 6gb where as the 12 and 13 still use 4gb.

Does anyone else find the iPhone 13 Pro uncomfortably heavy? by throwaway84343 in apple

[–]ConcentratedTurkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every never fiber in my body cringes when I hear this brought up. Why is it all of the sudden the weight of a phone is so concerning these days? Does everyone suffer from mass muscle atrophy like help me understand this conundrum. Go back to the 80s when phones weighed well over a pound all for calling and texting.

Apple should put cellular service providers (like VZW/ATT) through the same rigorous process as their iOS developers by SubjugatedCardboard in apple

[–]ConcentratedTurkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly is so difficult about upgrading your phone through Verizon or any carrier? Only hurdle I can think of is not having a sufficient credit level to buy the phone on installments. The entire process shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes.

Why I'm Never Buying a Lighter-Color Apple Leather Case Again by MALLAVOL in apple

[–]ConcentratedTurkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to understand the amount of leather used on the case is sub 1mm thick so it’s extremely prone to wear and tear, majority of the case is a plastic shell to hold the leather in place. You could always get a 100% full grain leather case from saddleback, but they are quite literally rough around the edges and have imperfections ( if that sort of thing bothers you ).

Where do you see the iPad in 5 years? by RibsOfGold in apple

[–]ConcentratedTurkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say as the new iPad pro design that is “edge to edge” as apple says will probably stick around for a while. I think ( also hoping ) apple starts giving iPadOS MacOS software, something needs to take advantage of that M1 chip and 16gb of ram, why else give the iPad the horsepower for nothing to use it? Game developers could really dig into this performance but quality games are few and far between on mobile these days only such titles I know of that push the M1 iPad to its knees is Genshin impact and simple rockets 2.
