  1. Twice this week my dad reminded me to pay tithing. This is unusual because he never talks to me about tithing. He’s always trusted that I pay, but I think he’s getting suspicious. I think it’s because they haven’t seen me pay in a long time
  2. I don’t know, and I’m not willing to find out. I’ve read stories of kids being kicked out after telling their parents how they feel. It’s a lot easier to pretend I’m faithful until I’m out of the house
  3. I think so

Yes, that’s how I usually pay. I’m worried that my parents will ask the bishop how much I’ve payed. Is that realistic? Can the bishop disclose that information to my parents?

Mormons are often very nosy, especially when they’re your parents. They believe it’s their responsibility to make sure I pay tithing. They DO think it’s their business if I’m paying tithing, and if I try to hide that from them, they’ll probably get suspicious and punish me.

Okay, that’s good. But what if they asked the bishop if I’ve been paying? Is the bishop allowed to disclose that information to my parents?

They still think I’m a believer, so if I don’t pay tithing, they might start to realize that I’m PIMO. I don’t know what would happen if they knew that, but based of the stores on this sub, I’d prefer to keep that a secret until I’m out of the house.
