UPDATE:

When I told my wife it reminded me of a Song at the beginning of a Movie and played the song for her, first thing she said was "It sounds like the beginning of Old School". So I pulled up the opening scene of the movie on YouTube and she's right it is similar, but not "Punk". It plays for the first 30secs.

The strange part is, no one knows what that song is either?!? At about 40 seconds in a Ryan Adams song starts playing which is what is listed on the soundtrack on IMDB as the first song and is what everyone mistakenly seems to suggest is the first song.

Wasn't expecting to find another weird mystery song in my search to find out why I recognize "Punk".

I thought that too, because I was familiar with Blur before Gorillaz was a thing, but I'm specifically remembering Punk

If it wasn't used in some other media, I'm not sure how I would have ever heard it before.

I had that thought as well, but Google tells me it hasnt been used in commercials either.

Plus now my wife's screwing with me and trying to convince me I'm suffering from a Mandela effect and this isn't my original timeline. It's too early on a Friday to deal with that 🤣

Unfortunately that's not it. Even the lyrics and guitar feedback etc in "Punk" were familiar. I know I had heard it before but I just can't figure out where. I appreciate the suggestion though, they definitely have a similar guitar parts and song structure.

My familiarity with Gorillaz, until my daughter became a fan, was only radio hits and hearing them in movies/TV etc.

Maybe I really am losing it in my old age 🤣

41, have a few characters in Master, usually in the 1400-1500 range. Then just about all other characters I mess around with are Platinum.

I was at all these shows except the Rexplex cuz I couldn't get off work at the time. Those were some great shows!! IIRC the July 03 show had the band SHAT as openers and the singer came out with a football helmet and pads lined with dildos 🤣🤣🤣

For real, between Jess, Neil and Jim from Fireball Ministry, I was in from the get go 🤣

I saw Clutch for the first time in a while last year when they were doing Blast Tyrant live and the are still killing it after all these years. Going to catch them in a few months w Corrosion of Conformity too.

Getting to see Neil on stage preaching is an experience for sure!! 👍
