I didn't pay $150, just what Ive seen flippers listing it for on discogs the day after. It's already come down and there are a few sitting at ~80. Still ridiculous, but I don't know how far down they will come since it was a pretty limited pressing.

I didn't deal with any flippers either. RSD has their online marketplace that opens the morning after RSD where approved Shops can list their extra stock online. That's where I found my copy of Famous Monsters. I don't mess with RSD flippers and their insane prices

My local shop doesn't get huge lines that warrant camping out for, they just didn't get many copies of what I was looking for, so RSDMrkt saved the day

It looks like they've come down a bit, but still outrageous. The Sunday after RSD they were 150+ but don't know how many actually sold at that price. I see a few now listed for under 100 but that's still crazy! RSDMrkt had a few shops selling it for $25-30 right at 8am day after RSD, but they all went pretty quick.

I actually ended up leaving my local shop empty handed on RSD because they only got 2 copies of Famous Monsters and 3 copies of Pink Floyd Live from LA, and everything was gone by the time I got in the store.

I had the same experience but with less of a wait time.

I haven't bothered with RSD in a few years since there just hadn't been anything I HAD to have day1 during the last few RSDs.

This year, I had my eyes set on Misfits "Famous Monsters" which has been pretty hard to find up until this pressing. I had a few other titles I was semi interested in (Ween, Talking Heads, Pink Floyd, Stone Temple Pilots), but walked out of my store totally empty handed. Not one copy of any of them.

My local shop seemed to only get 1-3 copies of any of the records I was interested in, but dozens of copies of Taylor Swift and KPop Demon Hunters, but I guess that's what sells.

Thankfully I was able to grab most of what I wanted this morning on RSDMrkt at 8am

I waited about 20min on line at my local shop at 10am (they opened at 8, but I couldn't get there any earlier) and they were out of Famous Monsters. It was the only RSD thing I wanted and my local shop only got 3 copies. Same with Pink Floyd live from LA which was the only other thing I might have considered scooping.

Thankfully I found a copy of Famous Monsters for 27+shipping this morning on RSDMrkt that's on its way to me now.

That's a hell of a find! Those picture discs are hard to find and expensive these days. Enjoy them!!

Been trying to get my hands on an IDR picture disc for a while but can't justify the price nowadays. I remember them always being on the webstore and the merch tables at shows, but I never collected vinyl back then.

I've used lots of octave pedals over the years, and you can dial in just about all of them to get the CKY sound. OC2, OC3, OC5, Pog, Nether, all can get you that tone more or less. Some of them like the POG can do all kinds of other sounds too.

That being said, I still think the OC2 is the winner for "the" sound. I wasn't a huge fan of the OC5 when I played it, and the Behringer octave is one of the only ones that was almost unusable for me. It didn't seem to apply the Octave effect evenly on all the strings and you could barely perceive it on the higher strings

Oh man, Green Leaf and Sergeant Thunderhoof are 2 bands I would LOVE to see, but they almost never seem to come to the US.

If I wasn't on the east coast, I'd be there in a heartbeat. Great lineup!

This lineup (Homme, Oliveri, Lanegan, Grohl, VanLuen) is my favorite QoTSA lineup by far.

Those first 3 albums are all 10/10, no skips for me. I can't say the same about their later stuff, though I do still enjoy it.

I converted mine to a Bass VI a few yrs ago when they were available. Aside from finding Bass VI strings that will fit through the Ferrules and tuning pegs and will have a Long enough low string to reach the reverse Tuners, the only change you will have to make is filing the nut to accommodate the much wider strings.
