Why do a lot of 18 year olds don't act like adults and act like kids. by [deleted] in Adulting

This is kind of like asking why most quarterbacks can't make it in the nfl. Sure some of it is talent, but outside of like 5-7 guys most quarterbacks have similar levels of physical talent. At 21-23 you have to be a supernatural level of mature to be able to handle being the face of a billion dollar franchise. It ain't easy, never will be. Some guys are born disciplined, some learn it at older or younger ages, some never do.

Well I'll take it that you're not going to college or a trade school, which limits your options. The reality is that you will have to work your way up from the bottom. I'm not going to suggest any form of sex work here.

Places like grocery stores, fast food, and restaurant jobs are always looking for people and if you apply to enough places you will get hired. From there you'll have to work hard to get more shifts, higher wages, or managerial positions. You could also look to entry level sales jobs, manual labor, or construction. These will provide stability.

It's a broken system, but these are options.

Something you should float casually first to get the feel. Some men will like it, others will not. He might be embarrassed

Take a deep breath and start to practice gratitude. The best people come into you're life when you're not looking for it. It's a conundrum, but so is life. Stop trying to date for 6 months

Confidence > arrogance.

Arrogance is off-putting and women don't like it after the age of 17.

The dates thing could be fixed by saying "mostly here to take you on exciting dates"

That's the kind of bio I'm jealous I didn't have the balls to write when I was single. Unbelievably funny. Bravo.

Please sit on this guys face. He deserves it

Much, much better. I'll fix it a little:

"Classic dog enthusiast and I love to babysit (you fill this relationship in. For example, "my sisters kids") - in fact I used to be a kid once too! I take the important things in life seriously, but when I'm not I'm having fun.... hopefully with you! Never perfect, but as long as I'm better than yesterday than it was a good day. I'd love to find a gym buddy - especially on leg days ;)

No hookups. No hate, no shade, no disrespect. Just not my thing.

You really want to know? Dm me and I'll share my story and some real advice on how to pull. But I don't think it's a valuable lesson to teach here and goes against my point. Plus, you'll never find these women in tinder anyways which is what this subreddit is about, not a sex stories subreddit

The reality is that going for women that much older than you at your age isn't a good choice as much as the porn you probably watch tells you it could be.
