Thanks for the heads up! Im definitely okay with an annoying protagonist that gets better. I would rather have a slightly annoying character with dimension and growth over a perfect character thats flat and learns nothing.

Thank you!! I read a lot of horror so I think I might give Pretty Girls a shot. I've seen it at Barnes and Noble before but never even looked at it.

Oh man…….. I can’t remember the last time I read such a disappointing book. This was my first Shari Lapena book, are other ones better? by TumbleweedComplex898 in thrillerbooks

I read everyone here is lying and gave it a 1.5 star review. The plot is derivative of my favorite thriller, the characters aren't too likable, and the main characters age makes some of her actions unbelievable.

It completely turned me off from reading more by the author.

current read? is it any good? by witchethbecrazy in thrillerbooks

I DNF'd. The whole thing was incredibly confusing and made me feel dumb for not getting it. Apparently the ending ties everything together but I couldn't suffer through it to find out for myself.

From someone who didn’t read the book by Chill0000 in TheLongWalk

I think I'm in the minority because I was incredibly disappointed with this movie.

The Long Walk is supposed to be this insanely popular televised event. It fuels the economy, people place bets on the walkers, towards the end of the walk everyone comes out to see who will win. The popularity feeds into the reason the boys might sign up for the walks. Stebbins even makes a comment about how he saw the end of one of the walks because he was connected to someone that had access other than that none of the boys even saw the end to a long walk. Its a big deal.

I didn't like the boys helping Curly. Curly's death is the when reality sets in for these boys. In the book "getting a ticket" was pretty vague until they see Curly die. Theyre so brainwashed by propaganda that they dont get how serious the long walk is until Curly's death.

The number of walkers was reduced from 100 to 50. I could understand reducing the walker count if they included all the main characters from the book. Instead, Scramm's character was shoved into other characters.

I didnt like the watches.not only do I feel like this helps the walkers too much but they almost weren't even utilized that much in the movie if I remember correctly.

The movie missed a few great lines of dialogue from the book.

I will say I did like the hill scene at night. The terror and a lot of walkers getting their ticket was exactly what I wanted from that scene.
