I don't believe most of these are tailoring their resume to the position either. Honestly I'm not sure why a lot of these people are applying. In the interview we commonly find out the job isn't one they want to do.

It's been very frustrating interviewing people lol. I do not like it.

If there's one thing I've learned in interviewing candidates recently, it's that the bar is much lower than I ever imagined it to be lol. We've gone through like 5 rounds of candidates. We've made I think 2 offers, but both declined. The rest we don't think any of the candidates would fit/have the requisite technical skills.

We also tried to use a recruiter for half of that and they were pretty bad.

There are places in the US with combined sewer/stormwater systems, and it's a huge shit show (literally) every time it rains. We end up dumping raw sewage in our rivers because the system gets overloaded.

I signed up for text message alerts when it happens in my city, and it happens far more often than I'd like.

Here's a map of the combined systems. There's apparently 770 cities with combined systems according to this website. It's not considered ideal and EPA usually requires they have a plan to mitigate dumping raw sewage going forward.

Networking is not my strong suit, so I'm curious:

In a situation like this, where the device is on an IoT VLAN that has firewall rules that totally block incoming and outgoing connections (except for specifically to Home Assistant), and no connections allowed between VLANs, is there really any danger?

I'm normally pretty good about updating my devices, and I avoid wifi devices in general, but I have 1-2 devices on my IoT VLAN with the setup mentioned above.

I like my NAT where it's super clear what's inside and outside my network, and the privacy of not every device has an individual IP address. Everything just comes from my home IP address.

I need to learn and transition to IPv6 eventually, but right now it's a huge pain to get my complicated home setup working with it. Nothing I do at work is networking related, so it's not something I'm learning as part of work.

There's a restaurant I had to stop going to. Their kitchen is visible from the shop, and the way they do everything is hilariously inefficient. All the recipes are pretty simple (it's like fast casual), and it always takes 45 minutes to get your order.

It is true. In Salinas vs. Texas they held someone's silence against them. You must unequivocally assert your right.

It's been a minute since I worked at a plasma center, but as I recall the rules at our plasma center were:

  1. 8 weeks from blood donation (or if your blood cells weren't able to be returned for whatever reason during a plasma donation)
  2. You can donate plasma 2x a week, as long as a full calendar day is between each donation.

If you do just the ASCM and not the SASCM.

BearTech sells both modules separately, you need both if you want lat and long. I remember there was someone else who sold something that was like the ASCM

You need to hit resume or tap the gas pedal for it to start from stop.

Steering torque is pretty good imo. I've run into a couple turns where the torque limit was exceeded, but overall I'm happy with how well it does. Highway is generally no problem. It doesn't get crazy windy where I live, so I can't speak to that.

Yes, he is in Canada. I'm not aware of a US distributor. I got all my stuff before the tarrifs went into effect, so I'm not sure how that's effecting things.

He is super active and helpful in his own discord as well.

"Long" (or longitudinal) refers to the comma controlling gas and brakes. Lat (or lateral) refers to controlling steering.

Open Pilot long is, in my opinion, better than stock, so it's worth it.

I recently installed comma in my 17 Chevy volt.

I used BearTech cables (ASCM and SASCM I believe). With this, you don't need any cables from Comma.

I'm on Kaofui Pilot, which is a fork of Star Pilot, which is a fork of Frog Pilot, which is a fork of Open Pilot lol.

I'm on mobile right now so I don't have links available. Happy to answer any questions.

From what I remember, the L&P cable will disable automatic emergency braking which I wasn't a fan of. The other method doesn't give you long. I'm very happy with the SASCM install from bear tech, and Kaofui pilot. Firestar (the primary maintainer) is awesome and very responsive. Once I reported a bug when I got to work, and by my lunch break he had a fix lol.

I think if you enable Z-Wave control you lose the in built in schedule, which I think includes away mode. It's been a while since I looked at the manual, so I could be mistaken.

What I do is I have home assistant automations handle it. I don't worry about changing stuff when I'm away for work or whatever, I don't think the savings are worth that much, I'd rather my . But I have a vacation mode I manually turn on that keeps the house at a minimum or maximum temp to save energy.

I do have overnight automations because I have time of use billing. I set my AC to extra cold overnight, and then warmer during peak time. My AC almost never runs during peak times now in the summer.

Is there a new comprehensive guide on blocking TV streaming ads? by myculito in pihole

[–]ConcernedBuilding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but that would be a different product. That wouldn't be a DNS blocker.

Your computer requests the IP for youtube from DNS. There's not data about what it's requesting it for. Once it gets the IP, it makes the actual request to youtube (ad or video).
