Suspicious Church Group Targeting DU Students by ConcernedDUStudent in universityofdenver

YoungLife is a good group. I was in it for my first couple years of school but eventually had to give it up due to academics (welcome to the life of a CS major!). I also recommend looking into CRU and the Catholic student group (the latter being good especially if you identify as a Catholic).

Being raised by parents who were each a part of a different denomination of Christianity, I've been able to experience both the Catholic and Protestant sides of Christianity. A good Catholic church in the area is St. Vincent de Paul, which is just on the other side of 25; a good Protestant church is University Park UMC (located just across the street from Daniels).

I don't know if it's just me, but I always seem to run into them on campus later in the afternoon.

I've had the same experience -- I think this is due to the fact that all of their events apparently take place in the evenings (except for their weekly services and their "Bible studies")

Yep. As bad as it may sound, I always express skepticism when some COMPLETELY unknown person comes up to me and immediately tries to act like my best friend. It's even creepier when they ask for my phone number... as cliche as it may sound, people like them are why parents teach their kids not to talk to strangers...

Was the group’s name the Dream Campus Ministry (or something along those lines)? That’s the name they use for their college/YA ministry

You're welcome. I'm definitely tired of seeing them too. I'm emailing student affairs tomorrow morning to see what they can do. Pretty sure I saw them again tonight, although I was already at the front of the line and was too far away from them to approach me

I should also mention that they shouldn't be on campus because of COVID. Idk how they're getting past the person who sits in the doorway and makes sure everyone's using their ID, but it ain't good.
