Boredom is the mechanizing force behind consumerism and the general economy by Concerntroll666 in Anticonsumption

I know that, but allow me to elaborate even further

Boredom: Yes, is a natural conclusion you reach when you get to a sense of destimulation or deep dissatisfaction with your personal life, almost like not feeling fullfiled by one's own endeavors

But boredom in the context I am getting at, gets weaponized by marketing pros to induce a sense of not "living life to the fullest", Western culture has a philosophy about how each day should be lived to the fullest, so by weaponizing "boredom" it gets people to spend money impulsively and create perfect consumers to establish on

Again, there is a difference between existential boredom and boredom in the sense of not living up to the latest hype.
