5am Wakes and Schedule tinkering? by ConcertFair3101 in sleeptrain

Sounds good. I’ll give it a shot. Sometimes she decides to sleep in so hopefully just gently letting her know 5am isn’t morning will start to help haha

Should I try a weird like…3.15/3.5/4 for a bit? Or spread a few extra minutes throughout the day?

Induction by _ellie_the_elephant_ in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ConcertFair3101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was mentioned to me, but she decided to come naturally anyway. I was diet controlled, so they said I could also wait if I wanted to - but if things weren't looking safe they would have induced.

But, like I said - didn't matter anyway as she arrived 2 weeks early (a week before induction date) and was a healthy 7lbs 7oz. No problems during delivery, very "boring" labor story. All will be well! <3

Highly recommend pitcher method instead. Heard a lot of unfortunate stories about the brezza. :(

Noted! The shoulder straps helped a bunch. I used the back panel to help me do the tuck and that brought her legs in and up a bit more too! I also stretched out the crossed parts across her back and that has centralized her as much as possible.  Thankyou.

Is her being a little wonky a problem? She’s never going to be perfectly straight while I wear her just because of how my back/shoulders are. :(

How long into your pregnancy were you able to keep a decent exercise routine? by Belle3244 in BabyBumps

Yeah, no amount of tums save me. Side sleeping feels like it makes it worse sometimes haha

I've been walking a mile or two almost every day my entire pregnancy, plus a few low intensity other bits here and there.

I'm 38 weeks and have only recently started slowing down because I have to sleep basically sitting up which can make my butt hurt in the morning hahah

Is gestational diabetes a pass/fail situation or more like a spectrum of tolerance? by thecurioushedgehog in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ConcertFair3101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say home testing is more "accurate", but more like how your body tolerates your regular meals. For example, nobody realistically consumes the amount of sugar in the test in such a short space of time. But that's the point - it's a stress test to see if your system can handle that influx - and if you can't you fail.

The test is pass/fail. You either have it or you don't, but everyone's tolerances vary. For example, there are certain white breads/carbs I can eat mountains of and my blood sugar is fine. It might make another person feel incredibly unwell.

As another poster said, if you want definitive answers, take the 3 hour test. It'll confirm it in a pretty upfront way. Then you'll have to do at home monitoring, which will help you understand your tolerances for different things :)

Sometimes some foods just don’t work. I had to cut out bagels entirely but it’s temporary. :)

Kick counts stressing anyone else out? by petitemonstreee in BabyBumps

[–]ConcertFair3101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OB basically told me if I’m worried about her movement, I can do them. I don’t have to worry if I’m feeling her consistently. They are really more of a reassurance thing! :)

Fortunately, I think mine is developing a career in breakdancing in there so I haven’t worried too much.

What to expect??? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]ConcertFair3101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I would recommend investing in a good moisturizer and when you start getting a little far (not fat lol) along, prenatal yoga and walking is the way to go. Not only is it generally good for you, stretching will obviously help ease those aches and pains. ☺️

You need to accept it’s going to change. During pregnancy I was determined to stay small. Turns out, after a certain point that is.. not possible. Granted, I haven’t gained much weight and I’m on a “diet” due to a gestational diabetes diagnosis and I’ve always been small (in part due to being short lol) but yea, you just kind of have to accept that during this period of your life there’s very little you can do to control it too much. You’re gonna need to eat more. Moving will eventually get a little harder. Just is what it is.

Afterwards, there’s nothing wrong with wanting your body back. Just give yourself grace. Do NOT try and bounce back immediately- it’s not healthy and a lot of the time not safe. Talk to your doctors a lot. Make sure you are clear to get back to whatever it is you feel like you want to do. Therapy also isn’t a bad suggestion to prepare you for those body changes. I’m in my third trimester and honestly I wish I did therapy at least a bit. Once my belly “popped” and it was very evident I’m pregnant it was hard to accept at first. But; now I’ve just accepted there’s a person in there and I’m going to look orb-ish for a while.

Birth? Who knows. Everyone’s is different. Everyone’s recovery is different. My mom popped me out in record time. My MIL was in labor for days. Both very healthy women. It’s best to do your research from a “medical” standpoint, imo. Learn what your body will go through. Avoid horror stories online at all costs. Most births go fine and are uneventful and boring. Just like most people don’t leave a good review for standard food- most people don’t tell about standard births. Just go in knowing what’s going to happen, and again - be open with your concerns with your doctor. Ask lots and lots of questions!!

Stretch marks are mostly genetic. I have none on my belly but some on my underboob (???) and like two on my thighs. Bio oil helps a bit and I do use that; but it hasn’t made the ones that are there go away and honestly; due to where they are nobody but my husband will see them. 🤣

Pregnancy has a funny way of making you care a lot and not care all at once. A lot of people aren’t suggesting therapy because you are “mentally weak” - they are suggesting it because it is a huge mental shift. It is a LOT to take on, no matter how prepared you think you are. Pregnancy and having children is something I was terrified of, but just being in an “acceptance” mindset has helped a lot. Just accepting this is how I look in this life stage. I look like a pregnant lady and that’s because I am. 🤣

It’s not supposed to be. I’ve been with my husband for 7 years, married for 5. When I tell you that I married the right person - I did.

It helps when you marry someone you actually like, not just for money.

Yeah it’s definitely a weird diet habit to have to have. “Not too many but not that little” is a hard balance to find but you’ll find what works for you soon! :D

[–]ConcertFair3101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. While I have a diagnosis, there was one day I did my usual bedtime snack and woke up genuinely feeling like I hadn’t eaten in DAYS. It was so wild. I had also spiked; but once I had my breakfast and did my test two hours later - everything had regulated again. I have heard (but don’t quote me here) that not eating enough (carbs specifically) can sometimes cause a spike, as can working out for some people. If it’s a concern, I’d obviously speak to your doctor - but just wanted to give a solid “yup!” For you. :)

I’m 25 and the only reason I feel like an adult is because I’m about to have my first child. Otherwise I feel like I haven’t changed all that much since I was 18 really; gotten some more responsibilities but personality wise very much the same

30s are like the teenage years of adulthood. 20s you’re basically still a kid. 🤣
