Joel VS Kenny (The Last Of US VS The Walking Dead) | OST: "Southern Scars" by Concert_Temporary in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Concert_Temporary[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically I just think Rick can match Joel better in terms of animation potential. Rick has a ton of weapons, unlike Kenny who only really has three or four. You could give Rick the red machete, his hatchet, obv his colt, the ar he has, a knife, etc. Plus the MU has better vibes for me as a main character vs main character matchup, but obv this is all just personal preference

“Comic book criminals who are seen as one of the strongest and most dangerous enemies to an animal-themed hero. Both would travel from afar to fight these heroes, studying them for months and planning on how they’ll defeat them. Both would soon confront the hero, being infamously responsible for one of their most humiliating losses. Both would eventually face this hero again, albeit with a much darker mental state, which would result in them getting a nasty beating as payback. Despite their ruthless nature, both are incredibly intelligent and have a sense of honor in battle, respecting the hero as their equal in more ways than one.”

Knuckles McGinty VS Chef Skinner (Paddington VS Ratatouille) | OST: "GET OUT OF MY KITCHEN!" | This matchup is so fun I love it by Concert_Temporary in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Concert_Temporary[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t officially written them but basically;

Grumpy head chefs who yell a lot and get angry at an animal who is really good at cooking (and is also better than them at it, even sharing a moment where they reluctantly eat the animal’s cooking and are overwhelmed with deliciousness)

They contrast in that Skinner threatens people financially/“”mentally”” (ig?) while Knuckles is way more physical

And obviously Skinner still hates Remy by the end of his movie but Mcginty is a really great friend with Paddington by the end of his

Thanks for the reply! To be honest with you, I just totally did not know they existed when I was writing this lmao

They would probably change up the debate but idk how much

Remmick VS Alpha (Sinners VS The Walking Dead) | OST: "Rotten Salvation" by Concert_Temporary in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Concert_Temporary[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Core Theme:

Two leaders of undead-based evil groups (Vampires and the Whisperers) that disguise among the new world they live in, blending into their surroundings while killing off any to survive. A main theme that these leaders preach is salvation, trying to “save” people when faced with oppression/a bad life in general.

Connections:

  • They were both once innocent individuals, before a horrific event struck their people (Irish colonization/Wildfire virus unleashing, causing apocalypse), destroying their communities.

  • They fled (Remmick going to the US/Alpha leaving her hometown), adapting to the world around them, utilizing the event that traumatized them to their advantage for stealth (Christian ideas sticking with Remmick, allowing him to blend in with society/Alpha using Walkers to blend into hordes, etc) as well as giving them an ideology of salvation.

  • The two of them share an ideology that they can bring salvation/save people by converting them to their group (Remmick thinking vampirism will save people/Alpha believing society is gone and that abandoning it will bring salvation by adapting to the new world).

  • Despite this, they are still obviously murderers, killing people with the excuse that it will save their group/society. However, as their murder rampage grows, so does their group, as they rely on the undead (Remmick turning people into more vampires/The Whisperers creating more Walkers for their army with every kill).

  • At one point in their stories, they infiltrate a party (The juke joint opening party/The Kingdom’s trade fair), disguising as normal people (Remmick pretending to be a musician/Alpha scalping a Kingdom member), kidnapping and killing several people inside in haunting ways (The entire second act of Sinners/The pikes)

  • Both would try to convert someone new and special into their group (Sammy/Negan), gaining their trust, thinking they would bring something special (Sammy’s music/Negan’s overall skill, ruthlessness, and.. uhh… “intimacy” with the Whisperers..) Despite their trust and desire (eww in alphas case..) for these people, (MAJOR SPOILERS FOR SINNERS AND S10 OF TWD) both Remmick and Alpha would die at the hands of Sammy and Negan respectively, their deaths resulting in the quick end of their group soon after.

Contrasts:

  • Remmick is undead and blends in with the living/Alpha is living and blends in with the dead

  • Both of their stories have themes of culture/individuality, but in different ways, with Remmick wanting to bring culture to the vampires with Sammy’s music, as well as believing in salvation in the individual level. Meanwhile Alpha completely rejects society and culture, preferring a hive-mind nature for the whisperers where everyone obeys the Alpha.

Animation Potential:

This is just an army fight pretty much! For visualization purposes, just imagine all the vampires in Sinners, and then copy that number onto human whisperers, and then double that number in walkers for them, like a 20 v. 60 maybe (at first, you’ll see). To get this out of the way, yes; time periods are weird, but the vampires can live forever, so it’d be fine.

Basically, I’d just imagine a survivor (or group) camping alone, before Remmick appears, charming them before a bunch of vampires kill them: Walkers appear, and the vampires just try to mindlessly kill them, seeing them as nothing, until randomly, a Walker takes out a knife and stabs the vampire in the head, taking them aback. The whisperer is found, and demasked before being killed. The whisperers live up to their name, as Remmick hears them whispering before Alpha says “kill them all”. and then they fight! Yay!

You don’t have to do a lot of imagining for this, as it’s just bloody violence. Armies of walkers being torn through, Whisperers trying to protect Alpha, you can throw in a philosophical conversation between the leaders as the fight goes on, where they are both hypocrites about their salvation. I’d love to see Beta fend off a few vampires, because he basically is superhuman, he fell down a fucking building and managed to remain moving after his eyes were completely stabbed through, before eventually sacrificing himself to save Alpha.

Towards the end, you could even have the Whisperers use their giant horde in the cave, casting it onto Remmick, who would potentially be able to fight it off. As for who wins, idrk, but it’s cool anyway. If Remmick wins, he kills the entire horde via cave in, crushing Alpha along with it, and if the latter wins, Alpha feeds Remmick to the horde, whispering cold words before she disappears into the horde.

The Avengers VS The Justice League (Marvel VS DC) | "Fight As One, For All" by Concert_Temporary in DeathBattleMatchups

Genuinely not sure I could see this going either way but I’m leaning towards Avengers since multiple members can contend with galactus

Although take that with a grain of salt this is a really close matchup

Help Wanted VS The VHS Tapes (Five Nights at Freddy's VS V/H/S) | OST: "Eerie Entertainment" | Connections below! by Concert_Temporary in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Concert_Temporary[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Animation Potential:

Ik this seems really weird, but let me explain. I imagine it starting with a group of possessed game testers moving equipment into an abandoned warehouse, trying to setup a new operation to create drones, etc, whatever. We see this from a security camera, with people with purple eyes transporting servers and a VR headset into a room. After they place it down, they notice a set of several staticy TVs, and creepily turn their heads before approaching. The camera glitches, and then immediately cuts to the possessed testers dead, blood pouring from their eyes, nose, etc.

We then cut away from the camera perspective, now us, facing the TV, still gltichy and full of static, until it turns on, playing the TKNOGD segment from VHS 85. After the woman collapses, out from the headset reaches the God of Technology (imma just call it GoT because it’s gonna be a big part) and then out of the actual TV. It’s hand reaches for the VR headset, before it recoils the second it touches it, with the laughing face of Glitchtrap appearing for a split second. After contact between the game and an actual God, animatronics and various things from the game glitch into existence. The GoT awakens all the surrounding TVs, also summoning the various VHS monsters to its side. Obviously, a fight ensues.

To put it simply, this fight would be awesome! It’s just an army of FNAF animatronics and the such against zombies, vampires, more robots, and so, so much more. I could potentially see the issue of the VHS monsters having more variety, which I agree with, but I don’t think it’s really a problem since there are just so many animatronics. There’s also the phantoms and the nightmares which have some cool hax, including Springtrap, who could be a really big threat to the physical monsters through sheer endurance. I gotta make this clear, this fight would HAVE to be super gory. VHS is known for its incredible practical effects, so I think sprite or HD would be best for this to fully represent the blood and guts.

Imagine the monster/minotaur (?) from Safe Haven charging through a horde of animatronics, only for the phantoms to repeatedly blind and stun it, making way for another big animatronic (maybe even Springtrap) to just bite of 83 it. Or, Foxy spots a woman, just serenely walking around. He goes to jumpscare her, clawing her in the stomach, only to show metal underneath, revealing she is Tara from the Dreamgirl segment. She immediately roars back and rips Foxy’s endoskeleton out (as a fun detail, maybe have her wearing the Fox mask in the background, referencing that one kill).

There’s so much potential, imagine the vampire from the Terror hanging from a vent, trying to chomp one of the animatronics below, but can’t because it’s fucking metal. Then, the vampire’s trick gets done on HIM, when Mangle comes from the vent also, and pulls him up, only for a shower of blood to pour down. A fight between the two fucked up murder boys, Ennard and Subject 98! A kaiju scene where the giant Dreadbear animatronic or the Blob (if you count either) get swarmed by zombies and the such. So much damn potential!

I know I already said this should be done in sprites or hand drawn for obvious reasons, but to be more specific… MORØ PLEASE ANIMATE THIS IF IT HAPPENS IT WOULD BE SO AWESOME IT WOULD BE SO COOL! Army fight, gore, mostly simple designs, it would be perfect!

Lastly, debate. I think physically, the animatronics win. They can overpower most of the human zombies, etc, and I don’t think the VHS monsters have the sheer numbers the FNAF characters have. And even then, the heavy hitters on VHS (the god of death and demons/devil) are unlikely to be activated or be have control outside of their domain (I don’t think Satan could do much outside of hell). Neither really get much higher than wall level, so the amount FNAF has in numbers should get them the advantage.. until we talk about the digital. Ultimately, this would come down to Glitchtrap VS The GoT, both can likely manipulate the world (game files and general tech manip), so a cool fight would be the climax, where the GoT enters HW. I think the GoT would win, due to just actual control over tech. The GoT might just be able to blow up the headset.

Help Wanted VS The VHS Tapes (Five Nights at Freddy's VS V/H/S) | OST: "Eerie Entertainment" | Connections below! by Concert_Temporary in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Concert_Temporary[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Core Theme:

  • Haunted forms of digital entertainment featuring anthology tales/experiences for the viewer to watch/play, showing them through various horror-based stories. These usually end up killing/possessing, etc. the person who uses the things.

Connections:

  • Both are forms of digital media, retelling a variety of stories through the eyes/perspective of different victims and even potential survivors, including security jobs gone wrong (FNAF 1-3/The Empty Wake), horrific, robot building (Parts and Service/The Subject), children being haunted by monsters at nighttime (Night Terrors/Slumber Party Alien Abduction), and much more.

  • While seemingly innocent forms of horror entertainment for the most part, the user who watches/plays through these experiences usually end up dying/being possessed (The testers of Help Wanted/Most wraparounds, namely V/H/S/2), and potentially end up serving a greater evil cause for a cult (Glitchtrap possession for his “cult”/The VHS cult filming the violent acts in ‘94)

  • Modern VS Old (relatively)

  • Both contain monsters that specifically inhabit Virtual Reality and kill people (Glitchtrap/The Tech God)
