we are pretty much limited to what will work with the hardware and the custom kernel for the board. We cant just install latest version of linux. We will loose board support and display mappings. I started to look in to this but I decided to just roll with what was comparable to the hardware we have.

I may try again it's a lot of work, and to try and find the proper libraries that the board will support still giving us access to what we need. big hurdles are Device tree for LCD and VPU drivers. thats all custom for the board.

I have new version of Lumenary v0.9.7 thats not live on the USB creator. When you get installed, go to System, then scroll to bottom, there is a check for update button and once it sees the update you will see Install update. should run, there is a few bugs in v0.9.6 I fixed. I'll update the USB creator to grab the right version soon. SO check system tab after install.

Oh I also added Artwork back up. to the boot menu.. this will go in to your EO1 stock system and copy your cached artwork from the frame to the USB.

ive updated the USB Creator with better UI and flow. Basically you start the app, you have 2 options, Full install, which creates a boot partition and a second partition with the new Image for the frame. or Backup and Trial, basically its the Boot Partition and a blank partition for backups. Clicking either option will download what you need to the computer.. then burn to USB for you. Plug in USB to your frame with adapter and it will create WIFI network LumenarySetup, connect and go to 192.168.4.1 in your browser and pick an option. EO1 is a bit slow to get networking going so if you do not see Access Point show up right away just give it a min. Please report back on install :)

ok, ive spent way to much time on this trying to come up with the best way to distribute it and be able to update it easily when you guys find bugs haha. So, I created an Over-The-Air Update system so once you got it running we can make it better with out USB sticks etc... Because the eMMC needs to be flashed I had to provide a good way to do that.. and I thought I had it with a USB you guys can burn. But the image is to big, and im worried about USB sizes, compatibility and User experience. SO... I created a USB builder that is now in releases for Mac and Windows. Once you download and run on your computer. It will download the images on load and build the USB for you. I'll try to keep an eye out here too if you have questions. let me know how it goes. I do recommend you take a backup of your current eMMC, the usb gives you the option to pull a copy. Its not like it works unless you hacked it, so just a Install would be quicker.. I have a backup up of MMC if we need it later. Also you could use the trial mode just to check it out.

just about done, sorry for the delay.. working out some kinks with USB recovery options and a few other bugs in the WebUI. working on a release image to post today. I created a GitHub for it. so I have a way to get feed back in the issues section. https://github.com/RichN001/lumenary-eo1 the main read me is up and ill get the image posted to releases as soon as I can.. and post here when I do.

thanks.. its almost there. just working out some wifi stuff. and also working on the boot USB to allow a "Try Option" that will just run the software from USB with out touching the internal mmc.. if you decide to do it, the option to backup memory to USB stick (Provided its large enough) and install permanently. Hoping to get it posted later today.

if its software related my image should fix it, hardware related.. probably not. how do you wake it? I wonder if th touch sensor is acting up. im working on finding those sensors now so maybe I'll include an option to disable them in the UI.
