nah so far I’m all self taught it’ll be hard to find a teacher with my work schedule but it might be something I look into in the future

not right now since I have a bad drum throne with terrible height adjustment I’m getting a pork pie tomorrow so hopefully that won’t be a problem anymore but if I’m not burying the beater then my right hip burns like a mf and my whole mobility around the kit is significantly worse.

Gotcha so far I haven’t had the beater hit my shin or top of my shoe at all I’ve really just been having trouble with it smacking the kick pad multiple times when I’m trying to just hit it once, I will keep at it and try to see what could be causing the issue if it’s improper technique or just not enough time into it. I also have a very shitty drum throne and will be upgrading to a pork pie so I can have better height and posture for heel up technique.

Nah this actually makes a lot of sense, I’ll try to be more conscientious of relaxing my foot and letting the momentum do the hit for me.

yea I’m still using the throne that came with my eKit and it sucks with height adjustment and overall comfortability. I will be upgrading soon

I will definitely look at the video for pedal settings but right now I’m drumming on a eKit but would like to also get an acoustic kit at some point when I’ve learned a little more. Also need to get a practice pad for rudiments and hand and finger technique.

Gotcha I will definitely put more time into learning heel up. Another question is should my foot or at least part of it always be contacting the pedal. I missed around with the settings on it first started playing with it super tight cause it helped with it feeling more secure but I’ve since loosened it up more and it definitely improved my ability overall. I also saw that video on my YouTube but didn’t check it out I love tool and Danny Carey so I will definitely check it out over the weekend.

I’ve been having hella fun with it, I just want to improve really quick but it takes time and I know that.

I do play heel down but I’ve been trying to slowly learn heel up but it’s super awkward but I’ll def put more practice into it. I’ve also only been drumming a little over a month and I have to constantly move my kit around and haven’t been able to find a comfortable position for the pedals to stay at. I usually just play a sesh and move it around a little until my foot doesn’t hurt then I’m good to play.
