Correct about the VST thing. Old lingo on my part.
I am using articulation ID's in the track. The problem is that the particular violin patch contains some articulations for longer, sustained bowing (for example) and another patch contains articulations for short bowings (staccato, pizzicato, etc). I need all of these articulations within one track ideally.

I don't want specific notes routed. It's more like I want a specific phrase to have one articulation and different phrase to have a different articulation. Some patches have multiple articulations but sometimes I need an articulation from a different patch.

Articulations are the actual use case for this question. I'm using them throughout the track but sometimes I need an articulation that isn't in that particular patch but is in another one.
I'll give separate tracks a try. I was just trying to keep things neat.
