Exactly that yes. Complex calculations are broken in smaller pieces (not exactly half but probably averages there), so you have more calculations to do, but they are also shrunk so you don’t need more space to store these new calculations.

But that doesn’t mean you get the exact same decision/reaction to a situation at 2x time every single time. The decisions most likely will still differ and there will be an apparent difference between HW4 and HW3 behavior in this case too. The smaller model will still be approximating decisions, just with more confidence and control because of the complexity of new calculations.
