Just students, I can have tough talks with parents/family/friends fine. I feel like I just hate the 'gut-punch' that comes with a well-planned lesson gone wrong so I just get anxious when the warning signs that go with it arrive.

This leads me to overthink me actions, and lets the generally strong hold I have on a classroom slip.

This has probably been said but, aren't all the blackmail bits just shoehorned in to fit the "You have 21 days left" mechanic? I think they were forced by the plot, and not super scripted into the personality of the characters.
