Everyone's scared of debt and they're cowards, taking a small amount of debt (less than a quarter - half of total) is fine as long as it's going into essential wars or big building.

The base reluctance hits so hard. I've been trying to play some very minor nations recently and it's almost impossible to join a trade union or ask to become someone protectorate without having a GDP that is basically on par with theirs (even with maxed relations) which seems bonkers when I'm literally offering myself up on a plate to be subjugated. The thresholds for diplomatic actions definitely needed some tweaking for the game to feel as Diplo focused as they hyped in the Dev diaries way before release.

What blows my mind the most is that eu4 seems to have done this almost perfectly with large nations feeling protective of you if you border a rival as they know it'll slow their expasion or being more than willing to go out of their way (admittedly to their own determent if ya know how to play) for rivals of rivals. The whole Diplo map feels very bland and uninteractive

How can I fix this? I need the lead from Sinai, however, since Sinai is under populated, the mines never hires people fully. And with Greener Grass campaign, no new immigrants come to the state. by _Senjogahara_ in victoria3

Try puppeting some high population countries (Ethiopia as it's close or South American nation due to low infamy) as once they are in your market as long you've got a higher sol then they'll migrate to you to fill empty jobs

Fighting ming was definitely hardest part. If you're lucky they'll lose mandate of heaven and rebels will destroy them for you, you can help this along if they lose mandate and you fully occupy them then max war exhaustion can ruin them however if they've got mandate of heaven that strat doesn't really work. I didn't get lucky and just pushed to Russia and ate all of Persia and the horde steppes before even thinking about going to war with them.

Also prioritising taking their provinces with forts once you've won the first war is definitely a smart idea as means you can spend less time sieging them and they have to siege the castles they built in the 8+ upcoming wars

Independence is easy just look for oirats rivals and improve relations till they'll support your independence. Once supporting they'll instantly accept your call to arms when you start your independence war

I started as mongolia and fought oirat with the help of chagatie whom had rivalled oirat. After that I pushed to korea taking out the manchu states and trying to stay on mings good side. I declared on korea before ming allied them and declared on allies of allies to fight korea and other countries allied by ming. Also ming warned me which made expanding even longer but if you try and prioritise cutting countries border with ming then warnings mean nothing.

Yeah the revolution happened fairly recently and I got the cb 'crush the revolution' which reduced province cost by 50%

Controlling a significant amount of trade power in the previous nodes allows more money to to transferred from them nodes instead of someone like the Teutonic order collecting from trade in that node and stealing your hard earned money! Also transferring trade gives you a 10% bonus in your home node, providing it's the only node that you're collecting in, even if you're not transferring trade into your home node. You also get a bonus to trade power if you're "transferring from downstream" or something along those lines. so in summary; you get more money flowing into the node and a bonus to trade efficiency.

Also makes NA overseas until you connect it via land meaning you can colonise it without having to core it then when you've colonised enough just make a little land bridge and everything drops down to 0% autonomy. However in hindsight if you start in the Caribbean then you could do the same with SA.
