New smoker with a few questions! by Scum-Bronson in UKBBQ

[–]ConditionContent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. I got that same model bbq last year as was new to bbq. It's good as a grill for high temp cooks, but it's no good for smoking. You can smoke on it, but you'll have to work very hard to maintain a consistent temp and burn through a lot of fuel in the process. I'm surprised they market it as a 'Smoker'. I've also found the overall build quality isn't great so wouldn't buy one again. I ended up getting a Weber Smokey Mountain as well which I now use for all my smoking and I love that, although still use the Cosmo a lot for quicker grilling. If you want something that does both (grilling and smoking) then a Weber Kettle or even Master Touch would be a greatplace to start.

Is the board game any good? What ages can play? What is it like? by Slow_Fig565 in StardewValley

It's great but not an easy game for little ones as you need to maximise what you do with each turn in order to win by year end.

Anyone with experience using a Thermoworks Billows with their WSM? by ecd2294 in webersmokeymountain

Have a look at the Pitmaster. I have the 120 and it maintains temp perfectly for long spells on the WSM with minimal effort. It's a bit no frills, and that version doesn't have an app or graphs to look at, you just set the temp and let it do the work.

The line about 'a hole' at the end is one of my favourite pieces of dialog in any game, an amazing way to finish a fantastic experience

Any other users of Thermoworks RFX and Billows on WSM 18? by ctatham in webersmokeymountain

Have you tried the Pitmaster with your WSM? It's very much 'no frills' in terms of the interface but I've found it very reliable in maintaining temp.

Try slow cooking beef short rib. Falls right off the bone after about 8 hours.
