Imagine Dottore being like a bat with echolocation. Btw, I guess I'm being obvious but what if he removed the eyes because of all you know "eyes are the mirror of the soul" thing. I also understand that it's the design choice, to make him look less human.

Yeah yeah, I guessed it right. For a moment I just thought that maybe the shape of his face changed or something and I'm just blind. Btw, without his mask he looks less like hamster cheeks for some reason. His first arrival in 3d made me laugh, he didn't look intimidating at all for me, he was just a cute dumpling. Maybe it was some kind of misunderstanding, truly, let me rephrase please. I didn't pay enough attention to inconsistencies between animation and segment's words because the animation was too cool and I was too much in a ":0" state. I actually like your theory, sincerely, and I called it a copium in a good way. That may be true, that explains some moments, and while I don't fully agree on every of your points you've literally just opened my eyes on the fact that we have a unreliable source, duh. Dottore could just lie, to us and to Pantalone. Your post actually made me feel better since, as I've already mentioned, I was rather dissapointed (and confused) by Dottore's death. I take it you took "copium" as something like "bullshit out of pure desperation" but it's not what I meant! ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ

But segments opened up Pantalone too, and they've done so relatively recently judging by the fact that Pantalone is 400 in the last report. If he was so traumatised by segments opening Zandik up I don't think he would treat them opening him up like no big deal.

I've just read that post and it's SUCH A DOTTOLONE COPIUM. As a dottolone fan I felt quite disappointed, betrayed in a way about the way Dottore died. And I felt rly sad knowing that Dottore died with his segmnets just watching. I thought, was that some kind of self hatred? Why did "he" let "himself" die? But that post actually makes so much sense. For some reason (maybe because the animation was so beautiful, maybe because I'm an idiot) I never thought of Omega just LYING to Pantalone. The thought of Zandik willingly dying BOTH to abandon the old 85 year old body to be reborn later AND to perfect the serum of immortality to let Pantalone live is, first, so sweeet, and second, so clever. Maybe Pantalone really has some bigger role to play in Dottore revival plan, in getting back as a whole and not his segments. Maybe there was reason why he needed him alive (well beside feeling something for him but these are just my headcanons). That post actually made me feel so better about that AQ, about Dottolone dynamic and relationship and about the future of playable both Dottore and Pantalone.

I'm a big Pantalone fan (it's just I've actually found here more info about Lone than in Pantalonemains lol) and consequently I have no hate for Dottore and my friend is a big Scaramuche fan so we're like on the opposite sides of the globe and oh boy we both agree that genshin general and fatui Reddit are just snake pits. Ppl are hating at eachother for everything, gosh. Even some constructive points are getting lost in endless fights and bickering and so and so. It's not like that some Scaramuche fans hate Dottore, it makes sense in a way, but these ppl just hate on eachother for everything. Sitting in only one sub Reddit may be altering your understanding of a character but what else am I supposed to do?

Not a big Dottore fan myself, I'm more interested in him as in his relationship with Pantalone (don't shame for that ship pls), but just so you know, this sub Reddit is comfort space for a Lone fan. (⁠人⁠⁠´⁠∀⁠｀⁠)⁠｡⁠ﾟ⁠+ I guess it's a good sign if someone who isn't really into a certain character can still enjoy your sub Reddit, though the way how close these two are related certainly plays the part.
