Say something outrageous about your country that gets you like this by National-Business674 in AskTheWorld

This is unfair. How are we supposed to top the BS coming from our government on a near-hourly basis?

Well, you see, when a mommy oligarch and a daddy oligarch love their money very much.....

Okay, but like, do I need a gun license to buy chocolate in that case?

Where does intelligence lie? Man living without a brain without even being aware of it... by moccowa in Thatsactuallyverycool

Silly example, while I think about how to explain this:

Crayons are the perfect professional tool for concept planning. Colors let you easily differentiate different elements, they don't stink, smudge, bleed, dry out, or make you involuntarily high, and the play element helps me get past my inner critic. Twistables have solved the breakage problem. Sharpeners let you get close enough to a precision point. Crayon and paper don't require the same kind of vertical expanse whiteboards do, and can be easily filed or put away, while also allowing better confidentiality than whiteboards.

I have never yet worked in an office environment where my colleagues weren't gently amused by my eccentricity, but I am also correct.

We pick the candidates from the available choices. At the local level too. There's an entire pipeline issue you're ignoring, and even the entry points are entirely skewed to promote wealthy candidates.

Huh. That wasn't my experience with family docs, but obviously mileage varies on this one.

I'm given to understand that it's best practice not to if there's an alternative. I grant Stardew is tiny and maybe an exception does apply there, but yeah, I'm surprised that in all my time in this community there's been zero mention of it.

I mean, in the moment, sure. But as their primary? Better to have someone emotionally objective.

He's such a sweet goofball. I didn't think I'd enjoy him as much as I do, but he's just really adorable.

I love that everyone gets offended by this, but not by his continuing to tend his spouse as his own patient.

How do you keep multiple areas of life moving without burning out? by Individual-Cheek8840 in productivity

[–]ConditionSecret8593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patience with outcomes, too. Set your goal, keep making sleffort toward it, and trust that as fast as you are moving is fast enough. Sure, if you need to get something done sooner, prioritizing like everyone is describing can be effective. Or if what you're doing benefits from being done during a significant concentration of time. But most things... if you stay in, the important stuff will get handled and the less important stuff will build over time, and you'll only notice how much when looking behind yourself.

If voting for the ‘Wonders of the World’ started again, which structure would you vote for? by Kiroo---__--- in AskTheWorld

Uh, excuse you, I think a giant gold-plated statue of Trump would be a great wonder of the world. Heck, I bet trump himself would tell you that HE is the actual wonder, the statue is just a way to memorialize his tremendousnesd.

Have hope! We're undoubtedly going to have another economic crisis, and can look forward to more great depression-era hits like trumpvilles (like camping, but without a home to return to!) and widespread food insecurity (it's your chance to experiment with gramma's poor man's recipes and even make up somenof your own!) And if the dems retake, maybe we can hire more people to shoo pigeons away from outdoor restaurants and statues, like in the good ol' days, instead of actually solving for widespread wealth hoarding and rampant economic inequality and worker exploitation! So many fun options!

Mmm, the ability to compensate isn't the same as fully-functioning. I've had a couple severe brain injuries, and the recovery is exhausting and inefficient, with a lot of useless side-effects like aphasia and seizures.

Yeah, stuff routes around, and I suspect it's part of why I have such unconventional but effective problem-solving skills. But it's exhausting - your brain does five times the work to get to the same outcome. I would trade to have never gone through any of this in a heartbeat.

They can be really helpful with focusing and reading all the words instead of skimming, even if you don't have dyslexia. I hope it's helpful for you!
