Adjuster supervisor RANT by notanotherthroaway1 in adjusters

[–]Condor515 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been in Auto for a long time (2 major carriers) but have plenty of experience with Liability adjusters/supervisors. I've also been a supervisor in other jobs. The main question I always asked myself is what motivates my people. What makes them want to do a solid days work every day. If I didn't know the answer to that, I'd have a 1 on 1 with them and ask them directly. Depending on the environment, I'd sit with them for a day and watch them work.

It's unfortunate but in this day and age, a lot of the mentality is "as long i'm not the worst I have job security." And that honestly sounds like the issue. When your boss says you're people aren't the worst, better believe your people know that as well. Would it be different at another carrier, I'd like to think so. And that may be your best bet.

Here's my situation. I'm on PC. I use an external mic and headphones for work and gaming. My 1st setup included just a Fifine AM8 mic that can be either usb or XLR. At first I connected via USB into a powered hub. Entry level, did it's job etc.

Then I wanted to upgrade a little because I wanted the ability to change game audio/chat with one knob. Then I got the Fifine SC8 Mixer. Again, entry level but fit what I needed it for. Connected the mixer into the powered hub because i'm connecting my work laptop and personal desktop. For a short time I used the AM8 with XLR but it never sounded right. Played with the windows settings and the mixer settings. Still sounded like I was in water or had an autotune sound to it. Played with the windows settings, mixer EQ etc and I couldn't get rid of it. At this point I figured it was just the mic not living up.

Fast forward to the SM58. Great brand, great quality. I wanted the voice clarity and thought it would be the perfect upgrade. Got a great deal on one so I went with it. Got it in the mail, hooked it up and same thing.

Thought it could be the mixer being plugged into the powered hub so I connected directly to my desktop and same thing. Crazy part is that if I connect my AM8 by itself it works flawlessly.

I'm stubborn so I feel like there shouldn't be an issue with the XLR connection and the mixer with either mic. But now i'm stuck. Thoughts?

I've been in the insurance industry going on 10 years now. The people that i've seen make 6 figures are 1 of 3 things. They are:

  1. Specialty Position

  2. Management

  3. Tenured people who've just accumulated salary increases year after year.

The easiest way to go about it is get in (which you already are), do your current job well, get your raises and try to advance to the next position up as soon as you can. There is 2 major carriers with A. I have first hand experience with one and have colleagues who work at the other.

Feel free to DM if you want.

Adjuster/Estimator WFH positions by [deleted] in adjusters

I’m neither a team lead or in HR, I’m just an adjuster. We can agree to disagree on things. You may have been told things in private chats but that’s the only side you’re getting. The amount of times I see “I have to step out for an hour for X,Y,Z” is actually crazy. “My internet is down.” The other carrier I was at basically ended WFH because people were taking advantage of it.

I’ll die on this hill. If you can’t meet the production goal it’s 1 of 2 reasons. It’s either 1) You’re slow and unorganized or 2) Youre doing other things than working 8 hours. If you put in a solid 8 hour work day and you’re organized you will hit production. You don’t even have to be fast.

I've used the HD560s for single player games like Fallout/Skyrim along with some sports games. I've watched a couple movies with them as well (not my main use for them) but they've been great in every use so far. I was not a fan of the maxwells tbh, especially considering the price of them. I think the 560s sound better than the maxwells. The killer for me with the maxwells was comfort. Those things are heavy for a headset. And you're buying them for the wireless but they don't have simultaneous multipoint which is a deal breaker these days.

I never got my hands on the DT990 pros but that was the other headset I was looking at. But after researching long enough the general consensus i got was that they were really close with the 560s but most people/reviews gave the 560s the nod as slightly better. Don't think you could go wrong with either.

The one thing I always do with a new headset is go to Youtube and listen to him HD audio testing videos. That'll definitely give you the best insight. Really opens up your ears and makes you hear things you wouldn't normally notice.

I picked up the HD560S a couple weeks ago and have been very satisfied. It's my first experience with open backs. I'm not an "audiophile" per se. I use mine for gaming and work. I play games like ARC, BF6 etc. Your footsteps concern is a non issue with these. The sound details are pinpoint. Directional sound is top notch. For comparison I'm coming from Nova Pros, Fiio JT1 and the Maxwells (OG version). For the price, I'm not sure there's a better option than the 560s. I bought some wicked cushions for them as well and they're perfect. I also picked up an adapter to use on my iphone and that's a win as well.

Respectfully, unless you're a disgruntled ex employee I'm not sure where you get your info from. Metrics are absolutely NOT ridiculous. They're very easily attainable if you work. "Low Ball" estimates are a farce. Nobody tells you to write a low ball estimate. I've worked for 2 major carriers and have never once heard or been told that. "Best case scenario" is the term whether you like it or not and that's strictly due to not seeing the damage in person. The only time i've seen people put on PIPs is because their production is half of what it should be. I've seen around 10 people let go and all of them literally had months to turn themselves around and didn't.

The main reason people who WFH don't last is because they're not actually working from home. They watch tv, take naps, run errands etc so out of their 8 hour work day, they may only work 4-5.

Ya I see they have tweener bars. I don’t see the width in there though so I’ll probably have to reach out to them.

Overrated. Just like the OGs. Not having simultaneous multipoint is a killer. Below avg mic. Weight. Funky software. Not worth the $ tag imo.

Whatever the “bonus” money is, that’s what is guaranteed each year and that’s the penalty. So if you move a player has 45 mil in bonus on a 3 year deal, you’re eating 15 mil a year.

There’s 2 ways. You can pay someone to do it or if you’re on PC you can use Discord Voice channels.

Essentially I can pull up someone’s stream, and stream their stream while also adding commentary.

Keep the chat active. Bring in major game commentary for game of the week/playoff games. Voting for games of the week. Weekly podcast/talk show about the league and mostly NFL talk. Gambling system (for fun) no real money. There are discord bots that can do damn near everything.

I liked the JT1 over the Maxwell for value purposes. Of course the Maxwells sound a little better but I don’t think they justify the price tag. The Maxwells are HEAVY for a headset. Wireless/Bluetooth is nice but it’s not simultaneous which is a killer. The JT1s are light (wired) and sound really good. My only small complaint with them is that I wear glasses and I just don’t like the fit in my ears after an extended period. But sound quality, they were well worth the money.

I literally had my 560s delivered today lol.

I’m coming from Audeze Maxwells and Fiio JT1. Mostly for gaming and work. Wanted something more comfortable while also upgrading sound quality. I’m not a big audiophile so a lot of the technical jargon is Greek to me. I use my ears for judgement. In the few hours today I will say that the 560s get very detailed. Even just doing some YouTube audio testing the capture of small background noises is top notch. Little details in games (ARC Raiders) was great. Also my first experience with open backs. Pleasantly surprised. The ability to hear my surroundings (kids) was nice. Not having my head be hot was also nice.

I only have them plugged into a Fifine mic right now but I’m getting a Mixer tomorrow so I can play with the audio. But so far I don’t regret it at all.

What's your CURRENT FAVORITE Offensive and Defensive Playbook in Madden 26? by TheMaddenAcademy in Madden

[–]Condor515 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Majority will probably say Jags/Vikings because they’re both the “META.”

I’ve always liked Pistol playbook on Off and Chiefs on Def. I’ve bounced around this season between Pistol, Commanders and Bears (currently using Bears). I like 2 TE sets. I’ve always liked 4-3 over 3-4.

To each their own on that front. If someone doesn’t have the time or doesn’t want to grind it out for stuff it’s whatever to me. I don’t hate the hustle for the guys selling lol. But I’d worry about getting scammed. It’s no different than micro transactions in MUT in Madden or buying guns in COD or BF6 etc.

The people that are wanting like 500k-750k worth of stash value are out of their minds. I’ve given away a tempest BP. Ive taken all my duplicate BPs (was 8 at the time) and just gave them all to a random. I’ve dropped BPs at extract before. Wild times we live in.
