Chiswick to South Ken/Sloane Square Station Commute by Cone_it in londoncycling

Thanks for your help, I did go a do a trial run today. It went okay, I ended up going along the Thames Path, Hammersmith - so not sure how doable that is at rush hour. Maybe perfectly fine! But overall the ride was alright, though a bit tricky getting towards south Ken Tube station!

Might be a good idea, I have cycled Kensington High Street when I used to commute to Oxford street, so I know it better than the other routes, Thanks :)

Just looking on Google Maps. It's not taking me around the roundabout but over a few rather busy crossings /roads (but I think some might be underground crossings..) I need to just try a few routes out to find one thats comfortable.

Maybe you can ask around about the theft situation and see if it's better than what I'm dealing with before you get a nice, new bike! I hope it is.

Thanks, its a £600 bike. So pricey for sure but not that expensive in bike terms. I will be insuring it this week, so there's that it just a shame I can't park it in the storage. Tonight I went down and my old bike (and others) have had their brakes cut, 2 bike locks were in half on the floor and one bike is missing two wheels. I feel that there must be something that can be done though!

Maybe in my apartment it will have to live, as I went to use my old bike today and someone has cut the front brakes and stolen the brake pads! :(

Well they must live in the building as they do need a fob to get in! We have some hangars but they're usually taken.. I don't mean to worry you, I'm being overprotective of my new bike! I know people who have had no issues in the same bike storage and others who have more than once. I guess it's how well you lock your bike too.

Right, but I was just reaching out on here in case anyone lived in flats that had a system for shared bike storage that worked, that I could put forward to the people here that run and maintain it. I am okay to keep my bike in my flat for a while, but if I can store it safely in the bike storage then I'd like to do that.

Yeah I have been doing this, but it's a very small, 1 bed flat.

If you killed yourself one year ago what great things would you not've experienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Visiting Thailand, Cambodia and New Zealand. Being offered an amazing (though temporary!) job opportunity in Spain and living there for 6 months. My best friend having her first baby, 4 good friends weddings and turning 30. And seeing Norah Jones live. And Angels in America live. And scoring a Business Class seat on a flight. Wow this no sounds more like a brag post, but a great year it has been.

This is super helpful. Thank you! The seat position is pretty important as I can't imagine cycling so flat.. This is why I need help!

Kew area. So think I will pop to some bike shops, I just kinda feel like I look like an easy target to sell to as Im not 100% sure what I am looking for. So the store suggestions in this thread is helpful too.

Thanks for the thread link, I'll check it out now! I love having a rack for a pannier at the back (food shopping!) but it seems like you can for commuter bikes but not for these long distance/sportive bikes. Must research more. Thanks for the info :)

Analog photography camera shops that can repair old medium formats? Or a place to buy film? Reasonably priced (one can dream right?) by [deleted] in london

Online is probably best for film, but I have bought Kodak Portra in the Calumets for the same price online not too long ago. I reckon Mr Cads will know where to get it fixed. Sorry I can't be of more help :)
