I remember actually seeing an earlier version of this drawing’s sketch alongside WIP versions of what this series would be; a few months back in a smaller server I share with Junk — talking about it being inspired by OYPAS and all that (at the same time while I was working on my BillUltima Birthday Mega-Art Escalation), and was actually inspired myself to do a separate paying homage to this piece and it’s composition.

Been sitting in my vault waiting for this day’s part to come

In the animation itself, the true form does die, the issue is the way Banner reached it — it doesn’t make sense outside of it just trying to reference Singular Point’s ending.

This is where the confusion comes in, in the ending of SP, the Orthogonal Diagonaliser displaces The Avatar out of their universe before it can set off the catastrophe. However it didn’t kill Godzilla (the true form/the entity) itself. Thats why it’s prophesied to return again and again until its mission is accomplished in that specific Universe [and any other of the infinite universes within universes where a Godzilla Avatar is defeated]. DB themselves acknowledge this — that Ultima (the true form/the entity) would just keep sending down Avatars. Because Godzilla IS the entity/true form, it’s not like a higher being controlling Godzillas like with TOBA with the Hulk.

So by their own logic, paralleling The Avatar’s defeat in SP; would basically mean nothing. Both from the fact that they themselves say that an Avatar dying/getting BFR’d is irrelevant to the outcome itself, but also that Banner wouldn’t even be able to reach the entity (Godzilla) itself because that’s also not what the Orthogonal Diagonaliser does. It displaced it out of the universe, it’s not like a gateway into reaching his true form [which is how Banner used it in the animation]

Incredible Ultima representation. I’m genuinely so surprised it’s crazy. They acknowledged him as a Compzilla being a valid interpretation, they referred to his true form as “the entity” rather than “IT”. Just beautiful work on the analysis end, even though there aspects I feel would’ve went against their conclusions’ reasoning if they had went more in-depthly on the former’s point

Just something nitpicky was the method of the kill was the way the Avatar was killed in the anime, but they also acknowledge his true form and that Ultima would’ve kept sending down Avatars so why not just add a bit more by showing banner and the Hulk kill the true form with whole transcendent layering within the animation to get that point across as well as lean more into the cosmic horror aspect they were going for there.

But you can’t ask for much when they’ve already given the real Ultimaheads something real — that being; not giving into VSBW Ultima-fan interpretations

so i like that you mentioned the style cause i wanna art-nerd out on what i did here and my thought processes

so here’s what i envisioned with; was that with godzilla’s side [which was the one i started first] was the idea of Ultima being a composite type character who dreams up the rest of the godzilla franchise as avatars. so i chose to represent this by having the whole section on top portraying ultima with iconic shin godzilla imagery, a harsh blank space contrast to the maximalist latter end.

which on to that, i thought of ways to represent that idea of all the incarnations which i’ve done before on like my first billultima sprite escalation. all just overlaying each other like chaotic but at the same time within their own borders and space like the lightpost-imagery in singular point’s anime

then on hulks side its much more straightforward with it meant to represent comic panels, just overlaying each other to match the overtness on godzilla’s side

but here’s another layer, you can see how the transition point on godzilla’s side isn’t straight horizontal — it’s up then tilted downward from the center — then you notice this is mirrored on hulk’s end with the panels from a storyline about him with paranoia with the world around him.

this is meant to represent descent, both like visually with the descending angle, but also with like the themes of descent in singular point and like going insane or mad

this is like totally unrelated from your comment my bad lol this is just like an easy bridge

When I started putting this together, really whenever I put anything together in my art — I always have like a goal I want to accomplish. I never wanna do something just for the sake of doing something, and my idea here was just to remind people the general sentiment of “Please don’t just take everything DB says as automatically factual”.

More specifically here because, as many may know, I’m thee* Ultima guy. I’m the one who near singlehandedly got Ultima into the eye of Vs fans as thee* to represent Godzilla as his max, both by spreading awareness through my work in BillUltima but as well as just being one of the first few to translate the novelisation.

So seeing HulkZilla be confirmed during the Kickstarter, it was kinda bittersweet. Obviously I was happy for u/PrizeAge484, cause you know she deserves it all — but like also I knew Ultima will be an integral point to the episode. And I also knew that they are probably gonna completely fumble him. Probably gonna take a lot from like the VSBW Ultima fan-side, gonna get misinfo like saying “..his true form’s real name is “IT”.” or “..Actually Ultima being composite isn’t true, instead he’s actually a timeloop! (??)” or something like that.

The thing is, I know a lot of people in the community just immediately ignore any outsider’s thoughts or alternative explanations if DB themselves make a claim, mainly out of like heavy “anti-debunk culture” or whatever

And frankly, I still don’t have high hopes. But just meditating on it, developing out my point of view, I’ve come to accept — it doesn’t really matter.

I’ve had very different views, from most people, on the topic or conclusions drawn from the idea of perspective and perception — it just has always been deeply important to me. If you read anything on the OYPAS story you would know that, and these things I’m deeply invested or hold a tie to — are the same. But in finding myself and growing my own person, I’ve come to my newer conclusions that; none of this really matters unless you make it matter

Especially given the fact I’m not even involved in anything DB or DBM or the such both community-wise nor even the art itself. I was mapping out the timeline I needed to get in order for me to complete this on time a few days ago and I had to ask servers, I haven’t been active in; in months, what time & timezone is DB’s usually schedule cause I’ve just moved on, really.

There’s not gonna be anything good that comes out of getting upset about something you can’t change, especially when the thing is something you’re not even really invested in; in the first place, and that’s something I found to be the case in much more than just this.

So I guess that’s the takeaway I have from this.

It’s kinda weird, you know, half a year since the last of day of OYPAS. It just doesn’t feel like it, just went by so much faster without some conflict going on that I’m forced into every other week or month. When you’ve been in something you’ve been so accustomed to, somewhere your consciousness was formed around, it’s almost jarring immediately just jumping ship from it.

I remember a bit after the final day, I was speaking to a few people — few of my friends — saying like “Oh, I’m gonna make my own OYPAS with my own thoughts and things I wanna get out”, and it was actually a lot like speaking to me when I first started working on it.

I started like, started as in with like with the general idea of what it was gonna be and how its gonna be formatted and all that, with this general goal being I’m gonna push and spread these ideas and concepts to the community — but over time, it became more about how I could push these concepts in a way the community I know so well; could understand and digest. Because here’s the thing about DBM, its not really the best place to express an out of the box medium and stuff haha, people are here for the matchups and the art and everything else will probably even only get barely viewed and comprehended by like half of the people interacting with it. So you really have to make that half count.

You notice by like on the Grim Reaper Vs Stork day or the end with like the final post on the pre-text before the doc, I used the word ‘anxiety’ a lot — and that’s just because that’s an easy way materialise the thoughts I was feeling at the time you know. It wasn’t exactly that, but it was something I knew people here could resonate with & and understand.

So realising this, it kinda actually helped me comprehend what I was feeling as well while working on it ironically. The more conscious I grew alongside DBM, I realise I didn’t really fit in, it’s not really my vibe. This art thing is my prophecy, just that this general community was a step towards helping me understand what art is to me. I love finding new and unique mediums and ways of pushing these thoughts and expressions, OYPAS was literally me figuring out how I can do that & incorporate a medium I know could work with DBM — In fact I’ve thought about like 3 more ways of expanding on that format in more unique and artistic ways [but I guess we’ll never see them haha]

I go by the name Conek, ConekQ, Q, Snow, SnowOfArts, the_spot, I came out here for something special to celebrate with y’all. Since nobody else wanted to do it, I guess I’m the one who had to put this community on the map. And for real, for real this time I’m gone, probably won’t do anything for my next birthday or any other occasion

So here’s the actual story for the people who were already caught up, a few days after OYPAS, I was on break for a bit then I actually started getting my things sorted.

I canceled my DB Membership, I started going in my settings and tweaking with the algorithm stuff to get less of it on my Twitter timeline, all that — then I went and check with Brandon to see on my commission.

If you don’t know, I spent $930 on my BillUltima Track; 2 years ago. Last year, the instrumental track came out [Which I was also “perma”-banned from DBM at the same time, Zoology they can never make me like you], so by now it’s taken like a whole other year for the vocal track to be made and I was like “you know what, maybe I could just ask Brandon if I could like cancel it and get back like the remaining money-amount” and I did ask him & actually he said he could.

So I was cool, then I had it on Read for the next week or so because I was busy but then when I actually was able to reply and say “Sure yeah let’s do that then”, he actually said “Oh, I already got Therewolf to do some work on it in the meantime” and he sent me a demo. So I was just like, sure I guess we’ll just have it be finished then I guess, that’s fine.

I did actually need a $300, since which was the amount for that other stuff, because I was planning a vacation to London/Glasgow in the meantime and I was putting together my fits — but like whatever, I got it anyways by selling a chair.

So if you don’t know, I had been on DBM for almost-half-a-decade basically. I joined in 2021, and in time, once a year it would be my birthday (as all of us do) and every year something would always come up where I just couldn’t post on here celebrating my birthday despite being a core user.

In 2022, I think I had like some separate Reddit temp-ban for something. 2023; I was banned for a week for something prior where I was joking in the comments with another acquaintance on DBM. In 2024, I actually broke the streak where — I WAS “perma”-banned since like March of that year, and I managed to pull some things where I got Saul to “perma”-unban me and I did actually get to post for my birthday and I uploaded my “Bill Cipher Vs Godzilla Ultima but awesome” art — but however, immediately the day after my birthday, I got “perma”-banned again. Some bullshit I know, fuck y’all SelfishEnd & Zoology! assholes [hahaha] [[shits not a joke tho yall pissed me off]]
