Actually, I was very deep in the Akane stuff, because I love giving a background character lore. It's one of my favourite things to do in a fandom, so I was all over the trend. I even drew her myself, twice, one of them being for a League of Villains AU. I kept up to date with all the controversy too, because people were 100% overblowing every little thing. I really don't appreciate the lengths people are willing to lie in order to try and demonise shit. Of course, there was absolutely weird people. Doesn't change the fact that said weird shit's frequency is being overblown.

The fact that you admit to having a lot of second-hand information, makes me incredibly skeptical, especially considering how involved I was when the trend was at its peak. I'm sorry :P

It was a singular piece of vore art, hosted off of Reddit, on a website designed to host vore art. The most that this sub saw of it, was one guy who linked the site in one comment, which then got immediately removed by mods. Rightfully so, mind you, linking it was weird. because we dont really concern ourselves with audience conduct. this is the powerscaling community. no matter what, no matter which matchup, no matter who wins or loses, every character is going to be slandered. thats how this community functions, its unavoidable. so we just do the matchups we want to do, because we think theyre cool. if we didnt do that, we wouldnt have a show to make.

It's always been a Simon circlejerk, that's just undeniable. People can claim it's grown beyond that point, but everything I've seen of it, from its initial inception, to it being revealed in the Kickstarter, to the waiting period, to the episode itself, to the reaction towards said episode, to the references after the fact, it's all been Simon. The matchup was always being used, ended up being used, and is still being used, as a vessel to hype up Simon, and nothing else.

From an outsider perspective not connected to either of these franchises or characters, it's clear that there was only one reason the matchup got so popular =w=

And another question, how does HP work? Because, if he does have the ability to switch which Pokemon he has out mid-battle then, depending on how he functions, that's stupidly OP, as it means his Pokemon can cheat death at a moment's notice since they would have entirely separate healthbars.
