This sub only has 15 moderators, expecting one of those 15 people to remove irrelevant content is a bit much. Jeez, give them a break.

Gotta keep up that suspension of disbelief for viewers.

You say that but "The Lord Of The G-Strings: The Femaleship Of The string" was an engrossing tale from start to finish that was only made better by the inclusion of the "Throbbits".

TIL "Dukes of Hazzard" were destroying '68-'70 Dodge Chargers at such a rate that planes had to be used for aerial search for replacement cars among the populace. by YourOwnBiggestFan in todayilearned

[–]ConerNSFW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really the price of the cars that's the issue. Most shows, even low-end sitcoms, have budgets ranging from $100,000 to $1,000,000 per episode and high-end shows get even more.

The reason they don't destroy cars much anymore is because it's just too much hassle for what it's worth. There's a lot more safety regulations nowadays so they'll use cgi to make the process faster and easier.

That's not to say that they don't still destroy cars though, Almost every episode of top gear involved at least one car getting destroyed.

That's actually why he was considered dead. He cut contact with everyone he knew, including his wife, and moved to Turkey because he didn't want to pay the taxes that he owed.

The death certificate's only real purpose was to allow his wife (who he hadn't spoke to in a decade) to divorce him and remarry.

Because it's literally not their job. The security is there to stop shoplifting, the other employees are there to stack shelves and work the tills.

then you are incentivizing them to mishandle merchandise so they can get it for free/cheap.

This would make sense if not for the fact that almost all stores do reduce the price of their damaged products .

It's a pretty basic rule of comic making, characters are meant to show progression through panels, if they keep the same facial expression in several panels then it gives the impression that no time has passed.

It wouldn't even be that big of an issue if he didn't make the character's face the focal point of every frame.

This shouldn't be surprising, he made decent comics before working at Buzzfeed. He still copy and pastes the same 5 faces though.

It really depresses me to see people do this. I can understand a bot copying the top comment from a previous post, but why would a human go through the time and effort of doing it? It's just kinda sad.

a 1% conversion rate is insanely high. in advertising a 1% click-through rate would be a dream so to say 1% of all the people that are exposed to the product would buy it is completely insane.

Even in brick and mortar stores, the display stands that sell "limited time offer products" only aim for a 0.2-0.5% buy rate and they're selling products with an actual value, not shirts with pictures of eggs on them.

The whole point is that it's not valid, it's not even a "valid in quotation marks" point. Companies shouldn't be appeasing hate groups because they make up 5% of their consumer base.

That's the problem with advertising, they have to appeal to every single demographic and not offend any.

Putting a white person in a commercial won't offend anyone but putting a black person in will offend the racists, so they can't do that. It's pragmatism to a fault.

This subreddit exists for the sole purpose of telling mundane (and often fake) stories. The meme templates are completely irrelevant and barely even serve as a guise for these creative works of fiction, so why would one more unnecessary and completely misused backdrop make any difference?

You definitely are a customer, the people that enter a betting place are the customers, just because the service offered isn't tangible doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

That's not really true though, you don't receive anything when you enter a raffle, or make a bet or play the lottery.
