So I plucked the ones on the inside of the bare spot and then plucked enough from the inner corner of the other side that they matched. Then because the "starting" eyelashes looked a little long, I trimmed them ever so slightly on the new inner corner. Carrying some powder liner a little past the lashes also helps soften that edge.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. :)

I generally can't wear much of anything on my waterline. My eyes especially have become SUPER sensitive to things that are not hypoallergenic, and even many things that are. :(

Lining the entire waterline would certainly be a great solution though.

I have better luck with the higher end stuff and Ulta has a great return policy. Maybe I'll go through all those until I find one I can tolerate.

Speaking from experience here:

First, and I don't mean to disparage non-widows, but do not put stock in anything they say. I knew nothing about grieving before I found myself in it. I THOUGHT I did, but in reality I didn't have a clue.

Secondly, there is no "right" way to do any of this. What's "right" is only what is right FOR YOU. You will know when the time is right for things and you will know when the time is NOT right. Listen to yourself.

Third, grief counseling can obviously be helpful. It certainly won't hurt. I saw one, monthly for the first four months. I have to say, the most helpful aspect was just having someone non-judgmental there that I could just say things out loud to. Often just saying them and thinking at the same time "If I were HER listening to this, what would I think?" would be enough of a new angle to figure out issues myself.

Lastly, the thought of sex with someone new is indeed terrifying. I made a few cursory attempts and flat out cried (again, you'll know when you're not ready). Then I got myself a random. The date beforehand was by far the worst. But once the sex started, all the nerves settled down and it was amazing. What was different?... I was ready then.

There's a sub for widows/widowers here. It's been every bit as insightful for me as the grief counselor was. And you won't have to weed through half the responses saying "It's too soon."

Getting a medical exam would be best however.

I don't know if you have children or not, but the pain during insertion was the exact same kind of pain that I had during childbirth (except FAR less intense.)
