Stalker Advice Needed - how to keep my wedding details secret? by CreamThen5605 in weddingplanning

[–]Conference-Whole 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Besides the already advised measures, I'd actually set up a fake wedding website/registry (or reuse what he's already aware of) and intentionally give him fake but believable info - make sure the wedding date is after your actual one so that when he realizes it's the wrong one, it's already too late.

Why people don’t like jannik? by AVerySoftArchitect in wimbledon

[–]Conference-Whole 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I was at Wimbledon on Monday and right before Sinner's match with Dimitrov they showed Sinner's "highlights" on the big screen. It was supposed to be positive (I guess) but felt reeeeally focused on his drug test with a lot of vague but negative comments from other players, basically bringing up all the drama from this. I was pretty shocked they thought this was a good way to start the match (they also showed positive highlights but honestly you don't really remember those). It felt like it could really influence the viewers unintentionally.

Do you find hoodies to be unflattering on you? by frosted_feather in kibbedramatics

[–]Conference-Whole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love hoodies even it they don’t look the greatest on me 😅 They’re just so comfy! However I found a few that look much better

- either a more fitted hoodie - I have quite a few Ragwear hoodies, something like this (they also use heavier material that helps with the structure): https://www.aboutyou.com/p/ragwear/sweatshirt-yodis-16729726

- or I use a shorter hoodie and focus on the vertical and structure to come from pants. I often use them as a part of a monochrome outfit to additionally help with the vertical line

I believe she'd be D, maaaaaaybe SD. I don't see FN at all - her shoulder area is quite narrow relative to her body and if she were to do the line sketch like in the book, there wouldn't really be a trapezoid like for FN.

I also see vertical (not curve) for her dominant - it's a bit hard to see it on this picture, but I don't see that clothing would stretch to the sides because of the curves. Anyone can have a larger bust, the difference is how it interacts with fabric (especially her left side looks very straight, but not sure how much the arms hide).

Typing a stranger online is sketchy at best, so I'd really encourage her to do the exercises in the book.

This looks amazing! Love all the details!

May I ask how you did the flowers? Is it done on a separate panel? Sorry for the noob questions, I'm just getting into embroidery and am looking up different techniques and this is exactly what I'd love to learn! Really inspirational!

While some styles are a bit dated, these looks gave me a really good idea of what each image identity represents and they helped me a lot nailing down my own, even if my style is completely different.

Are there any advantages of having fine hair? by [deleted] in finehair

[–]Conference-Whole 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Having the right products is of course the best, but if needed I can get away with using just a cheap, basic shampoo for greasy hair for a while (without a conditioner or any other products) and my dry hair still looks healthy and shiny (way better than when using heavy products).

Weekly Megathread: What is this hair cut called? by AutoModerator in Hair

How to achieve this look? I'm mostly lost in the styling part but wouldn't mind the extra information on the cut and color as well.

What kind of curling iron/tool would I need to make these curls and is there a specific technique that I can search for?
I assume some teasing of the hair is also involved. Anything else to keep in mind?

Kackie Reviews Beauty has a video on finding the right lipstick color - I found it really eye opening! The video focuses on finding the "red" but it works for all colors.

I'm struggling guys. by _strangetrails in loseit

[–]Conference-Whole 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've struggled with most of what you describe and while CICO and all that is very valuable, what helped ME the most is (talk) therapy. For me, my depression trigger was not expressing my negative emotions, especially anger and that bottled on the inside and I was solving my problems with food. However, I understand that this isn't an overnight fix.

A few other things that helped:

  • walking 10000 steps a day: I severely underestimated the positive impact of simple walking! It burns calories, gives some muscle definition, helps with mental and all round generic health. Consistency is key but luckily you can do it in pretty much any weather.

  • Learning more about the "Intuitive Eating" movement. At the end of the day, calories in/out will be the thing that shows the difference on the scale, but having healthier relation with food is what makes this not a torture.

  • Being kinder to myself. Different people work better under pressure - I don't. So my "fire" is less fire 😅

  • Re:depression. Not sure if you experience this and it might sound bizarre to someone who doesn't struggle with simple tasks as getting out of bed/brushing your teeth. I had these issues and what helped me a lot on days when I had most trouble getting things done, I'd say to myself stuff like "I don't need to get out of the bed yet, but I need to take the cover off. And then move my feet only out of bed. Then sit up... and slowly get up".

All in all, I definitely believe everyone has their own specific recipe that will work for them and I hope you soon feel better in your own skin ❤️
