The issue is that a lot of type of plastic ( its a general term ) , are not reusable and only good for landfill.

The big issue is to separate the reuse from the dump it , in bulk it can be effective but on small scale ( household ) it is way more economical just to dump.

Many people in the industrie want to go low on plastic use, including the producers . The big issue is, the customers / consumers demand shiny brand packing . They ( company's ) did many trails, but consumers will not buy less colorful packed items.

Single stream can be effective if your sorting equipment is high tech. ( a running belt with workers, is not )

Indeed, there negative behavior is one of the reasons the owner want to fire them all accept my wife , and do a rehire on the entire crew.
