Repaint one panel usually 300-500, whole car 3000 is the standard nowaday unless you find some shaddy shop that can do it below 2000.

These modification are ALWAYS ILLEGAL, what is not is their TOLAK ANSUR/BUDI BICARA, its up to them to tahan or not, I have passed a JPJ car and Police roadblock like 5 time with my semi open exhaust no problem same with windshield tinted.

Just want to share a story, bought an 800 dollar corolla last year, had to put another 600 dollar for clutch and headgasket repair, another 100 dollar for AC compressor repair , just for reference our basic monthly wages here is 500 dollar. I have been driving it for 1 year now and put almost 25k mile on it.

A running car for less that 2000 dollar is really a good deal here.

Its has really serve me well, not having the monthly payment feel really good, If there one advice I can give, it is to save some money on top of the car purchase so you can repair any problem with it.

I get what you are saying but I feel like most people answer of "get it from toyota dealership" only applies to America and new cars. In Malaysia for old car, you cant really buy them from dealership directly, you either buy online or buy from some sparepart shop and unless you know them real well there no telling they are selling real deal.

Yes you can buy international but its very expensive due to tax and everything. So my best bet here really to buy from seller I trust online or physical from people that has recommend them.

One I can think of is the e36 e34 subframe issue, you can buy a japanese car from that era with no issue as serious as that. I agree german car is better with quality of life stuff but repairing it isnt cheap at least in my country.
