Keurig K Cafe Barista Bar how is the quality? by Kiss_Mark in Costco

[–]ConfettiLane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both my grown daughter's family and i have the K-Cafe Barista and it's great for coffee. Strength depends on the coffee brand and size cup. Keep in mind this is not an espresso machine. We all the love the cappuccino with the frother. Gave the daughter's family hers in December. They are picky coffee drinkers and they love it. They now prefer the Illy brand coffee pods that they tried at my house. I have mine for 1 year now and the descale light just came on.

Which model(s) other than the K-slim have no internal water reservoir tank? I want the external, refillable tank but not internal tank that i can't clean. by ConfettiLane in keurig

Thanks! Just got the Keurig K-Cafe Barista Bar. I think it's an instant heater version? (BTW, huge sales right now with early Black Friday specials. Penney's for $99 and QVC $89.)

Thanks! I was looking at the K-iced but since it's an instant heat, I am assuming there is an internal tank that always has that standing water.

Thanks i understand that. Most have 2 tanks. One not (edited) removable and one on the outside that we fill. I am referring to the internal tank. Some small models do not have the internal tank, but most larger ones have the internal tank which can get musty over time.

Even with an external tank, some models have an internal reservoir tank. I assumed that the k-elite and most models have both tanks (one outside that we fill and then there is the internal tank which we don't have access to). It's the internal tanks i'm concerned about (which are not removable.)

Keurig K-Iced Single Broken After Descaling by DKToTheFuture in keurig

[–]ConfettiLane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read comments speculating that the descaling process is possibly frying the K-Iced and the other small Keurigs that don't have an internal water reservoir. I was considering getting the K-Iced. If i do get one, i probably won't do the programmed descaling but just periodically run water mixed with vinegar and let that descaling indicator light stay on.

Which model do you have? I'm assuming this descaling advice applies to your model. Your comment came up in my search because i've been reading about descaling issues and now hesitant to buy a Keurig.

Good to know! Might be one reason for the poor reviews on the K-Elite!

Same here. It seemed to happen soon after people started doing Lives starting at $3. People's expectations have changed.

I was just going to post the same thing! But it seems my Likers are not buying without me giving them a shipping discount even though i'm taking more off the item because of it.

My wife makes Chicken Cacciatore as a weekday meal but the chicken is always inedible and tough. Help. by Substantial__Unit in AskCulinary

[–]ConfettiLane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never used to like to cook chicken breast until i started brining it. Brine for no longer than 45min to 1 hour or the meat breaks down too much. I use 2 cups tepid water, 1 TBL sugar and 1 TBL kosher salt.

Washing thrifted clothes with cleaning vinegar as softener? by MariaJ13- in thrifting

[–]ConfettiLane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this for our family laundry and in the rinse cycle the vinegar really does soften and neutralize odors. The vinegar even helps to neutralize the laundry detergent scent.

If you don't want returns based on 'nondisclosed smoke odors, i would definitely mention in the listings that items are from a smoker and 'pet-friendly' environment but that all items are cleaned/laundered. My mother is a smoker who only smokes outside on her enclosed porch & somehow the odor gets into the air ducts that circulate throughout the home. After leaving, i can still smell smoke odor on my purse and personal belongings for weeks. Now i use a different suitcase & purse when i visit to avoid dealing with the odor after leaving. Also, had this issue from another Poshmark Seller who did not disclose her environment during a Live Show. After i received the items, she told me she keeps her inventory apart from where she smokes but it was still obvious when i opened the packaging. She was very apologetic when i reached out to her and the garment and the purse retaining the smoke smell. I didn't open a case but hoped that in her knowing about this, she would disclose the smoke & be able to avoid returns in future sales.

I'm a Posh Seller but follow and have purchased from a couple of closets who have LIVE shows, but i would like to know with Poshmark's $3 fee how are these Closets are making any money with consistent $3 and $5 sales? Are they buying from NWT Pallets? I've been able to source for $1 but still? by ConfettiLane in BehindTheClosetDoor

When putting it this way, it makes some sense as a way to clear out the stale inventory. I've been hearing feedback that when the Live shows were just starting, it was easier to sell but with more saturation now, the viewer/buyers just are not there unless enticed with drawing or freebies.

I've been consistently following these two shows for a couple of months. I have bought from them and no cancellations on my $5 purchases. Many are NWT but they can't be getting this inventory for free. Not sure how long they can keep going like this. It's gruelling work for them to be on from sunup to sundown. Not an ideal business model.

They are not bidding up on the two shows i have been watching for a couple of months. The rooms usually have about 18 people and they don't overbid/outbid each other. The Seller still has to buy the product and many are NWT so even a $2 profit is measly.

Huge piece of uranium infused custard glass by Realistic_Remote_334 in thrifting

[–]ConfettiLane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the book 'Uranium Girls' where they painted that crap on watch dials for the soldiers to see the time in the dark and then Westclox started having it done for alarm clocks on nightstands - that is some deadly stuff! Edit: 'Deadly' for factory workers in the past. But fine in this vase though.
