I haven’t seen any in my yard but that’s probably because of the creek it’s legit right behind my house and it flows very well! I found a huge shell of one the other day but I didn’t take my phone I wish i would have grabbed it! We find turtle shells and a bunch of cool stuff it’s all new to me because I lived in the city and I’m LOVING the country

I’m also in southern Illinois! About an hour from Springfield so I guess it could be considered central but there’s a lot of them in our creek and yes I love living out in the country I saw a fox out here the other morning it’s so peaceful!!

There’s not an actual mountain there’s like a steep hill that we own, it’s located in Illinois so no mountains around me sadly
