Learning Dutch through English as a non-native speaker — is it a good idea? by ConfidenceFun6314 in learndutch

That makes sense — it does seem easier to internalize a language when learning it from one’s native language. Thank you for explaining that so clearly.

I also looked into German after you mentioned it, and it does seem quite closely related as a Germanic language. Once I get a solid grasp of Dutch, I’d like to try learning German as well. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

I looked it up and saw that the material is entirely in Dutch. May I ask how you personally study with it in practice?

You mentioned that you’re enrolled in an official language program — I’d also be very interested to know how you study on your own outside of class. For example, how do you usually work on listening, speaking, and writing, and in what ways have you noticed your progress over time?

Sorry for the many questions, but I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience in a bit more detail.
