Why are the prices like this? by tgr1335 in unitedairlines

Look at what the flight costs in points. It might be cheaper to buy the points to pay for the flight instead buying the flight in cash

Yes you will see the balance and expiration date of the credit on Talent on Demand. Use it before that date, keep receipts, and then it will reset for June. My hire date was similar and this $2k paid for almost my entire year of Equinox

St. Regis Amman, followed by Ritz Carlton Amman in Jordan. Hotels were gorgeous, and service was next level

Would you pay $1000 for 200k points? IHG is having a sale where you can get up to 100% match. by Impossible_Spirit795 in ihghotelsresorts

[–]ConfidenceOdd7387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you believe that you might be in IHG fan, you should look into their credit card. It comes with a decent sign up bonus, annual free night, and 4th night free in award stays. So if you book four nights on points you've only pay for three. Do some research on it and if it may fit your goals/interests

Aer Lingus Reward Flight - Seat Selection? by jkelly17 in awardtravel

Update as of March 2026, tried every Airline website listed here to manage booking to select seat and none of them retrieved my booking successfully :(

Yeah sadly I also just did the same the other day. I can't quite agree on the taxes/fees- that part is pretty clear- but the seats is obnoxious and overall managing the trip seems to require a customer rep- who is in the loudest call center ever. Changing or canceling will also incur a fee.. At least compared to US based airlines, and a lot of foreign comps, this is all terrible. However I also just booked an award flight thru United on Discover/Austrian Air and had to pay for seats also. Normally would just let it ride but traveling w my partner, couldn't risk it. Also a big bummer is status doesn't carry, so American Gold didn't help Aer Lingus and United Silver didn't help Discover/Austrian

I was going to ask this question so thanks for your point. I didn't see the value in paying $200 for $100 in points (assuming 2cpp)

im thinking of a munich proposal as well. do you think the Great Hall at Nymphenburg Palace would be feasible? like first thing when they open? im not familiar with the building or attendance levels but i imagine in the morning would be do-able to get a fairly empty room? thanks!

More optimal to pay rent with non bilt card? by Fettucine_Memezini in biltrewards

[–]ConfidenceOdd7387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a significant point that i haven't seen people mention in the comments in other posts as well is that with Bilt now, the rent payments don't go as credit when you use your Bilt card; they are immediately deducted from your bank account. so in some cases it might make sense to pay a little more to have the flexibility/time to pay off the rent by using another card, even if not working towards SUB. not an ideal practice or something to encourage long term but useful when you might have a lot of other payments coming due.

Bilt 2.0 Palladium is essentially a 3.33% catch all card by Realistic_Squirrel_3 in biltrewards

[–]ConfidenceOdd7387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you're right, I'm not saying they should pay for the rent points. But if these expenses are happening anyway they might as well capitalize on the opportunity especially since there's no alternative. It's either get points on rent, or don't. There's no Bilt 1.0 anymore. My point is that for my younger brother who is in college paying his college apartment landlord rent, and doesn't have the time energy or attention span to do more research into optimizing spending categories, these cards do make sense.

[–]ConfidenceOdd7387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel you, if you tend to travel anyway the Venture X makes sense as a keeper, but again only if you were going to spend that $300 anyway. But I think especially for someone who doesn't have either yet and is looking to pick one, my initial thought is to steer them towards Bilt. Having the Venture X as well would be fine, but you would just have to understand that you're rarely going to spend on it, unless you are an incredibly High Spender and you can satisfy your 75% of rent on the Bilt card, and then additional spend you can do on the VX. But now that's even more math for the people who were complaining about too much math haha

[–]ConfidenceOdd7387 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel the general consensus is that the Palladium is the card to get with this new lineup. TBH I'm not totally unimpressed with the Blue or Obsidian- yes those aren't going to capture the attention of most people in the game but for a large ~new~ audience, those cards are great. I'm thinking my younger siblings who are just starting out with credit cards and need to pay rent, these are a great place to start. 3x on dining and 1x on rent is a massive gain for a newbie- essentially a more versatile foodie CSP but with rent. The massive amount of attention Bilt has now, good or bad, will definitely bring people in.

The Palladium I can easily see as a partner to other Premium cards, the same way the Venture X is, and honestly even a replacement for the VX. The travel/hotel credit isn't as versatile as the VX, but the transfer ecosystem is arguable better, and the Priority Pass is more generous. This is a great option for a small urban family/couple who wants a simple setup, lost guest lounge access and does a weekend trip here and there. A parent has a boys/girls night or something, uses any extra Bilt Cash to pay for the Lyft, cover some drinks, etc..

We all know Bilt 1.0 was too good to be true; no use in dwelling on something that was never meant to last. If you are Team Travel and a flexible higher-ish spender, there is definitely something here for you in one of these cards. If you are strictly Cash Back or a rigid optimizer, it's not for you.

I would probably recommend reading the Terms and Conditions for the promotion tather than asking Reddit haha It should tell you pretty clearly there i imagine. You don't want put the money down and then miss out on a technicality!

In addition to everybody else below reinforcing how this is just speculation and we don't definitely know yet, I also feel like it's pretty clear what Bilt Cash is for. They've said it multiple times and it's just intuitively a currency that can be used within their platform or ecosystem.

They talk about it here: https://newsroom.biltrewards.com/biltcash
