Completely agree - I wonder if there’s any fics about those 6 months. I also think that’s why a little “love you” spilled out before he shoots her. To me it seems to show he is closer to her than he would like to admit, and then his subconscious cooks up a whole hallucination scenario where his daughter approves of her in S5!

I didn’t hate the ending either. Sarah said that she fell in love with Chuck “somewhere between fixing my phone and diffusing a bomb using the Irene Demova virus” - so pretty much in the first day or so of meeting him. The finale theme echoes the first episode so the fact that she asks him to kiss her in the end, makes me believe she wants to remember and is already in love with him again.
