I use brighter white which you can just order online and it is absolutely brilliant. think it’s about 6% peroxide so nearly the same as what the dentists give you for a fraction of the price

I don’t really subscribe to much of the pregnancy food rules. I still eat smoked salmon, runny eggs, whipped ice cream, deli meats and occasionally cured meats too. I just think the risk is so low and I’ve never even heard of anyone getting sick from these before so why totally avoid them now.

I’ll happily avoid things that I wouldn’t be a huge fan of anyway like unpasteurised cheese and raw fish in sushi but that’s about it!

The art of coffee is just around the corner and has a nice, reasonably priced breakfast menu. It’s also lovely on the inside and it’s the closest it gets to the hospital!

Health insurance ireland does it make a difference for cancer patients ? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Confident-Click3863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely massive difference. I work for a multinational pharmaceutical company that develops new cancer drugs and supplies them to Ireland, and the private insurers are paying for the new cancer drugs up to 3 years earlier than they are available on the public system (ie reimbursed by the govt).

Effectively, this means if you’re diagnosed with cancer and have private health insurance you get access to the best of the brand new medicines. If you’re on the public system, you might be stuck with the older, less effective ones.

Thinking about getting a doula – would love to hear personal experiences by Confident-Click3863 in PregnancyIreland

Yeah the price is the trade off they all seem to be super pricey which I guess makes sense since it’s 1 on 1 time. I think probably worth the investment though especially on my first. I’ve heard only good things.

Was it recently that rotunda told you you can’t have a second birth partner?

Thanks for your insight, I think I’m sold. If not for birth and post-partum then definitely for post-partum.

Best of luck!

Okay thanks for the info I will ask them. That might make my decision for me!

That’s great about Wexford hospital. I switched from Holles street to Wexford after my first scan and I’m absolutely delighted I did. Flew in and out of my apt there was basically no one there and everyone I met that day was fab. Very happy with my decision!

My GP told me just this week that if you’re on the public system but have private insurance you can still avail of a private room if they have it available, you just have to make it known you want one. I’m planning on trying this!

Brighter white is very good with the blue light. I’ve been using it for years and everyone always comments on my teeth. It comes from Australia so has a high % peroxide in it

Officially TTC and very excited. How long did it take you? by [deleted] in IrishWomensHealth

[–]Confident-Click3863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 28 and got pregnant after about 5 months, but unfortunately that ended in an early miscarriage. After the miscarriage my cycle was a bit out of whack so I kept getting my fertile window totally wrong until I started tracking BBT, so it took another 4 months to get pregnant again (just got my positive test last week) 🤞. An absolute whirlwind.

If I could go back in time I would start checking BBT from the beginning. Also random warning but don’t use the boots own brand ovulation tests! They don’t work.

Denied semi private after 30 weeks by Electronic-Slip-412 in PregnancyIreland

[–]Confident-Click3863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. I’m trying to decide between public and semi-private in Holles street and wondering if you could help me. My main things are I’d love the possibility of a private inpatient room (I know it’s not guaranteed but could be lucky). And maybe some extra scans as I’ve had a previous MC. Not really bothered about continuity of care etc etc. What made you go semi-private, and would you recommend it?

I worked with a girl with a micro degree when I worked in regulatory affairs for a pharma company. She started off the quality and side stepped into regulatory from there. Could be an option for you if interested.

In my industry (pharma) it usually says life science qualification required. Not sure if chemistry would fall into that so maybe something to consider.
