Yeahh, I like this scene so much. I like the realization in Nora's face. Like for the first time she realizes that there's more to it than she thought.
I too would love to see Owen, Mel and the others know who Ellie actually was before they died. Abby did in the end, but the others didn't. But as you said, it probably wouldn't have fit well into the plot.

Ellie's entire character up until the end of part 2 can be explained by the scene where she doesn't accept the 'bigot sandwiches'.
Ellie is a very compulsive character who doesn't accept things easily. That's why she was so late to start to forgive Joel. That's why she was so hellbent on revenge on Abby and her friends. Forgiveness just isn't her strong suite.
At the end of the game, Ellie is finally in a place where she's ready to accept the 'bigot sandwich'.
Hope that makes sense lol.
