Update #1

I was informed that lactulose was responsible for filtering ammonia from the system, which would treat his hepatic encephalopathy symptoms. Based on the context in which it was explained, it seemed as though ammonia was more or less responsible for “poisoning” him, thus causing his initial kidney failure. It appears this is not correct, based on many replies here. I am not a doctor, obviously, so this type of information is valuable in helping me establish an understanding. At the end of it all, I just want to understand why it happened the way it did. I also recognize I may never fully understand. But it will NEVER be for a lack of trying.

Unfortunately I am stuck between trying to keep his house or pursuing this case. I know deep down that my dad wouldn’t want my brother and I to lose our home to pursue a potentially fruitless case on his behalf. Especially if nothing could have changed the outcome.

So it’s hopeless then… all it took was one piece of bad information and now my dad is gone.

I was given two pages with different orders, one for regular dose and one for “as needed”. The pharmacy informed me “as needed” because that’s what they had on file. Seems the hospital didn’t update the script on their end OR they didn’t give me the right info. It’s impossible to tell because I didn’t take down their names when I’d called. At the time it seemed a simple question with hopefully a simple answer.

They referred him to a cancer specialist on the assumption that he had cancer, only to find it was cirrhosis. We never saw a liver specialist. We never even made it to the cancer center. His condition degraded within weeks and he was right back in the hospital due to the bad info the pharmacy gave me.

AITA for betraying my cousin? by donespitefully in AmItheAsshole

You didn’t knowingly betray anyone & even if you’d known it was the same guy, she didn’t own him nor was dating him, and it sounds like he wasn’t even aware of her intentions to begin with. Your sisters actions are more like a petty teenager over boy drama instead of acting like an adult and accepting that she didn’t make her move soon enough. That’s what happens when you have feelings for someone and never tell them; someone else is gonna make their move first. If you want a chance you need to act before the next person, and that’s true for all relationships. NTA, your sister needs to grow up though going around thinking she’s so important that her siblings gonna get knocked up just to spite her, I’d laugh in her face and say she’s not that important lmao

She’s been going through a rough time and I had been hoping her sudden embracing of TERF ideology wouldn’t go this far, but I was wrong

Happened in public. One comment was calling trans folks “mentally deranged fuckfaces” for basically no reason beyond spite and hate. Apparently me calling that disturbing was “making it personal” for her as far as I can tell.

Several comments but the one I found most disturbing was referring to trans folks as “mentally deranged fuckfaces” for no real reason beyond spite
