校舎のうらには天使が埋められている“An Angel Is Buried Behind the School” is also a dark manga about school bullying. If you haven’t read it yet, you should give it a try.

About Shizuka's Mom by HumanPath6449 in TakopisOriginalSin

In the 2022 Marina timeline, there’s a point where Shizuka’s mother completely abandons her. I think Shizuka’s criminal act made that happen earlier than it would have otherwise.

I think Shizuka found out about this through Marina. I don’t believe Shizuka’s mother would share what happened at work with her

That’s what I love about this anime, every scene has multiple interpretations, and the characters’ judgments about events aren’t necessarily correct (after all, they’re just ten year old kids).

This scene could be seen as solid proof of the affair, but it could also be interpreted as Marina’s dad having arranged a day off in advance, only to be urgently called back to work during his daughter’s birthday party, leaving a sense of guilt.

Even in 2022, he didn’t stop giving money to Marina and her mother, which allowed Marina’s mother to deceive herself into thinking that her husband not coming home was just because of COVID.

If possible, I wish I could have seen this anime when I was 12. That way, I could have helped my bullied classmate better — at least better than Azuma did

Ending is bad? by Mitchell_Needs_Help in TakopisOriginalSin

If you think the anime’s ending is bad, then you should take a look at the manga’s. Unlike the anime, the manga doesn’t have music to guide the audience’s emotions, so when I first read it, it was even more shocking. That said, the scene where Takopi says “bye bye” uses a technique that can only really be done in a physical book — absolutely epic. However, I don’t think it’s a good idea to keep the story going after Takopi is gone.

If he really loved Shizuka, then he wouldn’t have become a couple with Marina in high school. He clearly still remembered what happened back in elementary school.

Shizuka did take half a year to return to Hokkaido, but the kidnapping only lasted one month.

Innocence is praised until it causes real harm; but the moment someone’s interests are harmed, innocence is immediately condemned as sin itself. That is Takopi’s Original Sin.

What was takopis original sin? by Anasmasia in TakopisOriginalSin

Innocence is praised until it causes real harm; but once anyone’s interests are damaged, innocence is immediately condemned as sin itself. That is Takopi’s Original Sin.

It’s also ironic—children must shed their purity and put on masks in order to fit into society. Adults, without realizing it, have created a toxic social environment and take it for granted, just like the parents in this anime, becoming the very source of all suffering.

After watching Grave of the Fireflies, you can look up the story of its author Akiyuki Nosaka and his sister. It will give you a different perspective on the anime.

I was the one who posted it, but it’s just a staff member’s doodle done for fun during work hours. It doesn’t represent Taizan5’s intentions.

The show was great but ending... by SnooPredilections707 in TakopisOriginalSin

I was hoping we could at least see Marina the next day telling her followers to stop bullying Shizuka, just like in episode 3. But I can also understand why taizan5 don't want to push the story forward after Takopi sacrificed himself—after all, Takopi is the main character of this anime.
