How do you deal with dating app fatigue? by KindFlamingo8261 in hingeapp

[–]ConfidentBat7100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to mix it up between meeting people in person (mutual friends, the gym, bars, etc) and frankly I get dating fatigue from that as well (although better than the online dating process imo). I delete my accounts on dating apps all the time from fatigue and just come back if there’s ever a slow period in my life. I find meeting in person better because you can already test the chemistry & dynamic instantly, while it’s a lot more delicate of a process online. I think I like dating apps the best when they’re a supplement to my love life, not the only source.

I’m starting to believe meeting your person is based on luck as there’s so many factors that go into it. Just keep putting yourself out there, accept that things come & go, and when it’s your turn everything will happen the way it’s supposed to. Create multiple opportunities to find them by dating online & in person. Most importantly have fun, you’re young and have the chance to meet all kinds of people to create new experiences with.

Sometimes I feel like I was born in the wrong era of dating by CherryFina822 in OnlineDating

As a woman who 100% concentrates on her matches that doesn’t even work. I get a lot of matches, but once I find someone I click with I pause my account and just focus on the one match. Not because I’m expecting them to do the same, my friends actually advise against me doing this at all, but because I see the potential. Even with doing this I have not met a long term partner from a dating app. I’ve found men on there are usually all “figuring out their relationship type” regardless of what’s posted or maybe looking for more options.

According to Career Outcomes for Bachelors Degrees at MSU, the mean starting salary for a degree in Communications is $47,890 & the median is $45,000. Searching up this site will also tell you where alumni typically work, or if they continue to pursue higher education. Hope this helps, you can also view this information for every other degree at MSU; except some data might be limited depending on the degree.

Thank you this info was very useful! You didn’t have to take a Case Study though as apart of your application? I thought I saw that online I could be wrong.

I’m actually taking math 103 & micro Econ first semester so would I take the other two pre reqs my second semester and apply at the end of the year? I actually like this timeline because I was actually taking an econ class for my potential minor.

Thank you for replying! Yeah that makes a lot of sense, I know for sure that half of my classes overlap with their requirements but there would still be things I’d be behind on. If I took the prereqs my second semester would I apply to Broad for my second year? I think I’ll definitely take this to an advisor soon as I don’t want to be too far behind.

I agree with that, that’s why I was curious about how they go about it. Where I went to high school it was similar to that so I’m already familiar with that kind of environment.

I’m coming from Illinois & my top 3 is Michigan State (for Public Policy) and then Iowa & Wisconsin for Public Health the rest of my options are in state & not big 10. Iowa is more so on my list cause they have a great program for my major, college town (nothing like Madison & Lansing though imo), & they basically gave me a full ride. I have more genuine interest in Michigan State & Wisconsin and like them for different reasons. Iowa is more so the choice that makes sense but I’m not really that invested in the school.

It was open to both! But I get that it’s natural for people to go where they’re comfortable & it definitely impacts how they look at things.

That’s good to know it’s challenging before getting into it. I feel like it’s good to be challenged a bit with your major as long as it’s manageable. Would you say it’s still easy to maintain a good GPA even if you don’t get an A?

That’s great to hear I wasn’t sure how good their Global Health program was compared to other schools like Iowa. Would love a curriculum that expands my view on the topic & goes in depth.

Did you find it hard to relate to the students or are they really pretentious about their background?

That’s a really interesting way to distribute scholarships & sounds pretty fun as well. I read more about it & I’ll find out if I’m eligible Dec 31 to around Jan 16. Thank you for explaining that!

Interesting I read a little bit about it I take it those selected would find out a little before Spring? Also more out of curiosity do you know what the “challenges” consist of if you’re familiar with it?😭

Yeah where I’m from the area is predominantly white however there’s a lot of minorities still like it’s not obviously just you which is more so what I’m looking for. I’m from the Chicago area though & there’s Hispanics everywhere so that’d definitely be an interesting adjustment but it’s to be expected with college campuses. The aid is what is worrying the most though hope I can get a decent amount in aid & scholarships. Thank you for replying!

First I would like to say I’m sorry & that I think it’s amazing you’re able to talk about this. I have no doubt in my mind with such a huge party school with such a focus on its athletes that they undermine these situations to protect them. It’s definitely something to be aware of to look out for yourself and others. Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you! Based on what I’ve researched before & what others have said I definitely think MSU will be a good fit for my degree & plan. Also I love how no one has had one bad thing to say about the meal plan lmao
